Hotel Catalonia Magdalenes

Great hotel, nice location and lovely staff.
Rooms were nice and very clean but we hated the pillows (too soft) and the bathroom door is frosted glass so little privacy if you're sharing a room! The lifts to the room were always quick and the hotel was quiet.
The spa in the basement is small but very nice and so relaxing if you're the only guests in there. The rooftop pool is also small but it's a nice space with lovely views up there. Would recommend

When we arrived at the Catalonia Magdalenes, we were greeted as if we were family coming home. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable.

Sarah had a never-ending smile and very efficient in covering the roof top pool and bar. An excellent place to unwind after the tours.

Silverio made us feel at home with impeccable service.

Simo and Adam at the front desk provided never ending attention and suggested excellent restaurant and local tours.

The hotel is centrally located in the Gothic Quarter and we walked to most of the sights and restaurants where we enjoyed great fish and local foods.

The street is away from the heavy traffic and the rooms extremely quite for sleeping. Great room service.

My wife and I give this hotel “5 Stars”.

Location is perfect! Room is spotless, gym is all you need to get a sweat going. Staff is so amazing, Joshua is a true gentlemen and very knowledgeable. He truly made our experience the best!

I want his efforts to be acknowledged and recognized!

A great find in a perfectly convenient location, filled with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Adam the bellboy and Angel the room staff were fantastic, Adam giving us tips and advice on the area, Angel leaving our room pristine with every clean. I didn’t catch the names of the men at the concierge but all were very friendly and professional with each entrance and request.

The room itself was good, spacious for two with a great bathroom and electronic black out blinds for sleep. The only negative I would say was the indoor pool/spa - the water was lukewarm and the metal seat in the middle of it may pose a danger to your legs! The gym was small as well, but well maintained by the staff.

We would definitely stay here again - in the summer when the rooftop pool opens, it would only get even better! Many thanks team,

We were recommended this hotel by my sister. We stayed for 5 nights in March. It has been a fantastic stay in a wonderful hotel in a beautiful city.
The staff are amazing. Very attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. Big shout out to Bruno on reception who checked us in and out seamlessly. Simo and Adam were great. Very helpful and making sure we had everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our room was great. Lovely comfortable beds. My only complaint were the pillows which are very thin but we were given extra ones when we asked.
The pool area is lovely and the spa was amazing. A lovely way to end a day of walking.
The hotel is in a central location and close to everything.
We will definitely stay here again.

We were very lucky to get into this hotel due to Congressional going on,so we really lucked out getting in this hotel. The men and women who run this hotel cannot be any nicer than they were . Some including Adrian,Simon,Adam and the “bird whistler” Joshua were the best guys around. They helped us locate places to eat, getting taxis and getting our luggage upstairs. It is an excellent hotel!!

Perfect location. Its not too far from the plaza yet not too close so its quiet at night
Going to Jacuzzi after a long tour was very much nice. All the staff, especially Adam was really friendly and helpful during our whole stay. Would definitely recommend to a friend

Lovely place to stay, the staff and their hospitality was second to none.

Me and the wife felt welcomed and attended to with a smile from start to even after checkout.

Wish the pool upstairs was up and running but then again it was winter so i guess they have to work on it sometime.

The location was walking distance to a lot of good places to eat, shop and everything else in between.

We would 100% recommend this as the place to stay in Barcelona.

Absolutely great hotel. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Particular shout out to Simon and Adam who were extremely helpful giving advice on how best to get to attractions and always on hand with a smile. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection of hot and cold food catering for intolerance and allergies. Location was fabulous, right in the heart of the gothic quarters. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the welcoming staff, you made it a very special trip indeed.

Loved our stay in this hotel! Perfect location in Barcelona, very clean and luxurious, and the staff were most helpful. Adrian and Simo, and the whole front desk team, did a fantastic job! There is a nice spa and steam room downstairs and a pool on the roof. I did not have the breakfast but it also looked very nice. The pieces of Roman aqueduct in the lobby were also very cool!

My one note is that the standard room layout is probably best for either a romantic couple or parents and children — the shower and toilet are behind frosted glass doors, but it is not the most private layout for friends who are staying together. I am not sure about suites and other room types.

One note - the jets in the hot tub are sometimes not fully turned on but if you ask the front desk they can tinker with something to improve it.

Went over spring break and had an excellent stay. The hotel is close to so much, but on a nice side street so it was very quiet. The breakfast in the morning was wonderful and the hotel staff was amazing. Helped us find things to do and made dinner reservations for us. Would highly recommend staying here!

Everything was top-notch at this place. The workers in the lobby were extremely helpful at check-in and throughout our stay. The lobby was a great place to hang out and have an espresso or water. The location was near the main transportation hubs and definitely walkable to the Gothic Quarter and La Rambla. The place was very clean and modern and the gym and hot tub were well maintained.

Wonderful two day stay ahead of cruise. The hotel location in the Gothic quarter is excellent, hotel and room were great and the staff were so kind and helpful. Shout out to Simo at the Front Desk for his happy and welcoming smile each day! I would highly recommend this hotel.

We have had a wonderful stay at Catalonia Magdalenes in Barcelona. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the rooms lovely and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the roof top bar and walks through the gothic quater. The 4 cats was a lovely bar just round the corner.

The staff at magdelenes were fantastic,Silverio the barman is a real credit to the Catalonia group. He was friendly and happily offered us sight seeing tips. Adam the concierge also was a stand out member of your team. His warm personality and food recommendations were always happily recieved. We will be back.

At the airport leaving Spain and just have to say how great our stay was. The location was perfect - close to the church, the music palace and great shopping. The service was GREAT. Stay at this hotel! If you are on the fence, this is the one. Great location near old town, walking distance to many sites. And the breakfast buffet is fantastic. Pool area is gorgeous in every way!

The staff was absolutely AMAZING! Adam was extremely fun and friendly. Very professional, happy, and very patient. The patient part is so important when you have been traveling for 24 hours straight! And I made a mistake on our reservation and they helped straighten that out.
We hope to come back someday!
