I really want to highlight this wonderful place! It’s a hidden gem in the center of Barcelona! This museum is a beautiful representation of Catalan architecture, interior, and decor. Everything has been preserved in the same way as it was for the first owners and residents of this house. Every detail in the house has its hidden meaning; it was interesting to listen to the audio guide about the decor and spatial organization. A pleasant bonus would be to try hot chocolate with whipped cream after the tour.

As a fan of architecture I'd say I prefer this than the neighboring Casa Batllo, for its better preserved original furnitures & decor, more classic and less eccentric art nouveau design, much more reasonable ticket price, and the more in-depth, less... "gaudy" audio guide that covers not only architecture and design in depth but also the background info of Amatller family. A must-see if you want to explore more about Modernisme other than Gaudi!

Add this to your list of modernist buildings. Very informative guided tour. I missed having more time to take pictures though.

I came in the evening about 90 min before the closing time, but managed to get a guided tour with a few others. I had the "Barcelona Card Modernista" so did not need a reservation. It was an interesting layout and fun to go through. There is also a small shop to purchase their delicious chocolates! Worth a visit if you have the extra time.

Exquisitely maintained museum and house with many original pieces, did the 50 minute audio tour and learned a lot about the family and the property. Also got to try the chocolate at the end which was delicious.

It is the Battló house next door. It is a great place to visit. All the furniture are original and you can live the past time through an audio guide explaining the rooms you visit. There is a chocolate café in the ground floor which was part of the house.

Casa Amatller was not designed by Gaudí, but it is just unique and beautiful as any of his works. The exterior is memorable, and the inside is elegant. The museum tour is available, but you can always walk in at will to appreciate the gorgeous stained glass ceiling and eat some delicious chocolate sold on the first floor. You must include this house as a stop when visiting Casa Batlló.

Good digital museum with the topic of the modernism in Barcelona during 1900.

Gothic, Victorian and Arabic styles combined in a one place.
As a huge fan of chocolate I recomend this place because after you have a look to every detail of this house with it's unique atmosphere you can enjoy hot chocolate. And it's important to mention that every room has it's own mood, unique furniture and details. It wasn't crowded and that a big advantage because you'll feel free and enjoy your tour

Awesome place with super coffee shop “Fabotit” inside at the heart of Passeig de Gracia! Good offers for breakfast, but we were really crazy about smell of the chocolate: enormously sweet, delicious and great cup, served with toasted bread🥰 Highly recommend!

Casa Amatller is the work of the architect Casa Amatller is a Medernist building. It is the work of the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch.. It is close to Gaudi's Pedrari and Batlio houses. It definitely deserves attention and viewing.

Must see in Barcelona! Best Art Deco architecture. Don’t miss it. People passing by without knowing what a treasure hiding inside. Preserved private house of a wealthy man. The tour include a very taste hot chocolate, on the first level of the house, once was the kitchen area and now coffee shop.

Seemingly overshadowed by its next door neighbour (Gaudi's Casa Batllo), Casa Amatller is my favourite place in Barcelona. Former abode of a worldly chocolatier who was influenced by Islam, ancient Egypt, and the Orient, this house was home to a fascinating individual and just elicits intellectual curiosity. And the staff are great, and the attached chocolate shop is even greater! And gluten free chocolate!

The guided visit was simply amazing. The house by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch offers a fascinating alternative yet complementary to Gaudí's modern style.

Talking about houses in Passeig de Gràcia, what I found particularly interesting is that the history of the house and the Amatllers is more complete and preserved when comparing to the Battlós and the Milàs.

Finally, the Amatller's family business as chocolate makers is something that I found appealing and the visit ends in a café with every Amatller chocolate.
