This museum exceeded my expectations in size, featuring a diverse array of artifacts from Asia, Australia, and Africa.

The meticulous organization enhances the pleasure of walking through and studying the exhibits.

Conveniently located just opposite the Picasso museum, it offers a less crowded but equally enriching experience.

Forget the Museu Picasso, just opposite, and take your time to visit the source and inspiration for his work: african masks, precolimbian sculptures, aboriginal australian paintings... A bit of everything! Will go back to spend more time, it is such a pleasure this place. .. Forget the crowds in the Museu Pucasso...and the overpriced entrance fee! 5 euros here, well spent!!

A surprisingly top quality and extensive collection of art from Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific. I spent as much time here as at the Louvre (no kidding)…really a world class collection, well presented and not crowded. Just next door to the Picasso museum and at the very least a place to occupy yourself if the timed entry tickets at Picasso are sold out. Will be glad to return here again!

The museum is really good and is just a few steps from the Picasso museum. There are lots of exhibits from all over the world. There were few visitors to the museum. It's a shame that such a historical and cultural gem is so underappreciated.

An interesting collection of art, relics, statuary, and religious items from Africa, Asia, Oceana, and the Americas. Interpretive information in Catalan, Spanish, and English. By happy coincidence, we visited on International Museum Day (May 18th), so admission was free. The building housing the collection is also a restored heritage building with interpretive displays about the structure also provided.

I love this museum, it’s one of my favorites in Barcelona if not my favorite. I have been twice and I always see and learn something new. Very comprehensive ethnological information that you can read on screens throughout the museum. I went on a Sunday once and it wasn’t very busy.

A beautiful gem that doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves. There’s plenty of interesting things to see and learn, totally worth the experience, and for 5€ only, absolutely no regrets!

A very spacious layout comprising artifacts from natives of many, many countries from around the world. Descriptive plaques are provided for most items, along with a panels for the greater areas of continents and Oceania. Well lit and very informative, would recommend.

This is an amazing place, one of the best museums with superbe exhibitions from all over the world. It's not as popular as others in Barcelona, which actually makes it even greater, it's a hidden gem where you can get away from the crowds. I learned a lot about different cultures, I wish a had more time to explore it thoroughly, I think you might need a whole day to really immerse in the history of the artefacts in here 😍

Large and inexpensive museum. Everyone that spend 3 or more days in Barcelona should see this. It's fascinating too see how much Catalonia care about other cultures

This museum is clearly underrated ear Picasso one. We could visit a temporary exhibition and 3 floors of folk art from all over the globe. Very well displayed and informative. Cheap ticket.

This museum is located right in front of the Picasso museum. The decoration is simple, but beautiful, and the staff was friendly. The entrance is free the first Sunday of every month. Overall, I enjoyed the visit a lot.

Located just across Museu Picasso, free entry on Sundays, great rare collections especially on the Indonesian section, being one myself I have never seen some of the collections in my own country.

Our original intention was to go to the Picasso Museum which was literally on the other side, but we got discouraged by the long lines and ended up here. And we are so happy for it! It's not the biggest museum but artfully selected art works from all over the world outside of US and Europe are well laid out. It really gave you a sense of depth and breath of artistic expression from all over the world, which may have even influenced the esteemed artists in the West. Another big plus: we literally had the museum to ourselves. Great respite from tourists. The descriptions of work in Catalan, Spanish and English.

Really interesting museum just opposite the picasso museum. Value for money choice for people that are interested in cultures. It also has a very good interactive room where you can enrich your knowledge in a fun way.It is not crowded, without big lines, we preferred to go there instead of picasso museum.

I went to this museum last week and it’s overall a great museum with very nice collections.
I enjoyed the most collections of Middle Eastern and Oceanian cultures.
The first Sunday of each month is free entry

This museum was amazing - clean and the staff was nice and helpful. Also there were nearly no visitors, comparing to the other overrated and hyped museums in the surroundings this feels a bit unfair.

The pieces are arranged logically by continent and the flow is great. Also the building of the museum alone is worth a visit.

But exhibitions like this also raise ethical questions and I really missed some sober background information on how the treasures ended up there and if there are aspirations giving them back to their rightful owners in the future.
