Hotel Catalonia Eixample 1864

We had the work Christmas dinner last night and I gotta say that everything was excellent. From the room that we were in that was so modern and beautiful, to the hotel staff that made it possible with the delicious food that we had. Special thanks to our waiter Fernando and Tamara who organized our night. We even had our karaoke moment! 100% would recommend.

It's not a perfect 5 stars because there were a few minor annoyances, the room doors were very heavy to open and had auto-close springs that slammed loudly, making it difficult to bring luggage in and out, there were very few places to hang clothes in the room, a few clothes hooks on the walls wouldn't hurt. Getting in with a stroller was difficult as the non-revolving doors were not automated so someone had to hold them up.

Pool was mostly useless in winter. Other than that, really good hotel, amazing breakfast, good service. Thanks Vasily in reception who took good care of us!

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Regarding the rooms - clean, but the bathroom definitely needs some refreshment. The breakfast was super!

Stayed 5 days/4 nights at the hotel, and everything was beyond expectation. We didn’t experience any of the negatives from some of the reviews, instead we felt the staff were super friendly and helpful, they even thoughtfully helped us to celebrate our important date! The room was modern, clean. Unparalleled location means we could walk to most of the sights in Barcelona. This will be my go-to spot in the city

Glad i booked this hotel for our 3 nights stay in Barcelona. Stayed in a Double standard room and it was big and spacious! Staff are very friendly and helpful- checkin and checkout was smooth..

Location is great. In a quiet neighborhood but still near Plaza Catalunya and tourist areas. It’s 5mins walk to Casa Battlo by Gaudi and all the shopping areas.

Will definitely stay here again when in town!

We had a Christmas dinner yesterday at one of the rooms they have for events and the service and the food was very good. Cannot comment on the hotel service as I did not stay but food and service are excellent. Special mention to Tamara for organizing and Fernando for his service.

We stayed in October at this beautiful hotel. It is located in the centre of Barcelona, therefore everything was so close.
The rooms are really clean , the breakfast so full of things (fresh fruits & vegetables, omelette which is made in front of you) .

Loved this hotel’s breakfast. Best one while traveling in Europe. Rooms are clean and modern. Unfortunately, pool wasn’t heated so couldn’t use while there.

Has been a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Catalonia Example 1864, staff are very welcoming, service is great, rooms are of a generous size for all luggage and the location is quite refreshing, nice to be able to chill out on the pool deck and have a pretty good view overlooking the city and up to the mountains where you can see a large cathedral standing atop of the mountain.

Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Spain for another holiday.

We stayed here the last night of our trip to Barcelona - it was a welcome change to an AirBnb. Staff were lovely and attentive, rooms had good air-con and the showers were properly hot. It was lovely being able to chill out on the roof, too. Restaurant was really decent as well. Just a very nice way to round off the trip.

Do have to apologise to the staff for us taking so many photos of food, drinks etc - our other friends were having hotel-based disasters in different places so we were trying to show off!

Ruth and Fernando are with no doubt the most helpful and accommodating ( and funny) folks we've met during our trip. Our party of 4, felt so comfortable asking questions and their response was also polite and warmth.
Luna is the most welcoming receptionist and helpful gal. There was also a tall gentleman that was so helpful, he gave us tips and suggestions on places to visit. Bartender on shift today 5/17 made us feel right at home.
The luggage gentleman ( I can't recall his name) was so polite and helpful.
Overall, the staff is great. Excellent customer service. Different than the U. states, when compared to 4-5 star hotels. Hospitality is on point.

Valuable and go above and beyond employees for sure.
Location is PERFECT and rooms are super clean, cute comfortable. We will definately stay again and recommend 100% to friends and family.
Restaurant food and drinks are delicious. This hotel is great, between location and service this hotel is worth twice as much.

Update: Ryna (bar) and Christian (bar) are so personable and provide our group with excellent hospitality. Again, customer service is top notch and everyone seems happy and works really hard. Congrats to management for that leadership.

We've just had a lovely stay at this hotel. Great service and very helpful staff. Extremely clean. A bottle of Cava left for us for our anniversary and a rose for Sant Jordi's Day. Definitely recommend this hotel

Wonderful hotel, the roof top pool made it extra special. The only downside was the lifts not working on our visit which led to difficulties getting around the hotel.

Last September we had a perfect stay. The location was really nice. The rooftop pool is cool and I could work out in the gym. The best point was Jorge. One of the most friendly front desk hotel employers I ever met. Thanks Jorge.

Great Hotel, really nice staff, great breakfast and comfortable rooms. My room was looking outside to the street, yet it was perfectly isolated, there was no notice to hear. Romm was super cleaned every day. Absolutely recommend it.

personally, I had an amazing experience here,I got the chance to go to the bar and it was beautiful, in special the attention (Bruno) he was very helpful and nice. I would totally come back here again. Highly recommended

This a very charming hotel in great neighborhood of Barcelona. For this Gaudi fan, Casa Batallo is three block away and the Sagrada Family is a 20 minute walk.
There is wonderful restaurant in the hotel (and breakfast buffet), a small bar, and meeting rooms. I saw businesses using this venue for meetings and parties and our tour group was easily accommodated in the conference rooms.
