Hotel Catalonia Square

This was the second time that we stayed at this Catalonia and I really enjoyed it again. While the early check-in is not guaranteed, the staff do their best to accommodate the guests. We had an issue with a wrong charge from the minibar that was handled professionally and on a timely matter.

This hotel doesn’t only rely on its location, which is great. The rooms are nice and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Will come back for sure.

The Catalonia Square hotel is a winner for a central and affordable Barcelona stay. Location is king, and this hotel puts you right in the heart of the action, steps away from Plaça Catalunya, La Rambla, and the Gothic Quarter. Rooms are cozy but comfortable and well-maintained, ideal for kicking back after exploring the city. The friendly and helpful staff is another plus. Overall, excellent value!

Great rooms. Nice relaxing pool area. We were traveling with three adults and only feedback was for Jr suite...no privacy. You walk out of shower into oversized room, but show was so large, got dressed in there. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay. Centrally located in Barcelona to shopping Nd people watching.

The location is perfect for anyone looking to walk around and explore the Gothic quarter. We stayed here for 3 nights in one of the family rooms. Our kids really liked the bunk bed feature. The breakfast buffet was packed with excellent foods, spirits, cavas, and juices. The pool was a nice way to let the kids relax and play after seeing famous sites. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Went out there way to help.
Very central, 5 minute walk to top of the Ramblas.
Rooms comfortable and modern.
Good facilities, bar and pool with sun loungers.
Breakfast was really good, won't go hungry.
Would definitely re-book.

Great experience here. The rooms are decently sized for European standards and extremely clean. The bathroom feels like you are in a upscale hotel. Loved the balcony and the great view! The hotel is located right by Catalunya metro stop, which is a major station that can get you all over the city.

The hotel is close to touristy areas but also still has pockets of more locals- which makes a great combination depending on what interests you. The area around the hotel is typically pretty busy, so i never felt unsafe.

If you enjoy american fast food there is also a McDonald's and Taco Bell only a few steps away :) but i promise if you walk a few more steps you will have endless tapas options.

An absolute treat. The staff were so welcoming, helpful and efficient, the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with large doors opening onto two small balconies which gave views onto Catalonia Square.

The location was perfect. One minute walk to Catalonia Square and the start of La Rambla and the streets and laneways of the Gothic Quarter.

Really great hotel to stay in Barcelona. A little disadvantage was the fact that my room was not ready at 3.00 - so I needed to wait extra 40 minutes to check in (it is especially inconvenient when you arrive earlier and dream about refreshing). BUT, the room was really spacious, clean and comfortable. Sadly, it was possible to hear the noises from the corridor (Luckily, it's only 8 rooms at the floor). Hotel provides tasty breakfasts (worth to take it) I really loved the variety of cheeses <3 At the hotel, one can also find a tiny (super tiny) gym and pool.

But the greatest asset of that hotel is how conveniently it is located (you are at the city center).

Importantly, regarding the late check in - there was no problem to prolong the stay for extra 2 hours for free (then, we are fine in the end) :)

A wonderful hotel that deserves every 🌟! Service was excellent and friendly. Hotel breakfast was wonderful. Fresh choices daily. The location of hotel is great. 5-10 minute walk to everything! And only 2 minutes to/from airport bus!! Room was lacking for nothing, very comfortable. Cleaning was really well done. Awesome place. Thank you!

Great place to stay in Barcelona.
Location - Centrally located, walking distance to La Rambla, Metro station and many shopping places and restaurants. Also has a Aerobus Airport shuttle service in Cat Square that takes you to/from Airport T1 and T2 for less than $8 per person.
Place - We booked a Superior room which is facing Rhonda de Sant Pere. It had a small balcony where we could sit and enjoy the view of the Cat Square while seeping coffee. Room was quiet and modern.
Service - The reception staff was very welcoming and helpful. Juan in the restaurant on the 1st floor was very helpful and provided lot of great information.
Would certainly stay there again!!!

Staff are very helpful and friendly. Room was very quiet with triple layers glass door to block out noise from our balcony. Walking distance to all the central places (bus/metro, shopping, restaurants), making it very convenient to travel. Comfortable bed and comes with all the essentials needed. Will definitely come back to this hotel again. (If you're using public transportation, highly recommend getting unlimited day pass. We got 4 days unlimited pass and we're able to use for metro/bus)

I tend to be a little bit more on the pickier side when it comes to booking hotels. In terms of the room itself, I prefer a more modern design, a location within reasonable (to me) walking distance of things to do around town (10-15 minutes), a quiet environment where I don't hear very much noise from other guests or from the street, and a bathroom with a shower big enough that it doesn't trigger my claustrophobia. Hotel Catalonia checked all of these boxes for me. Additionally, the location was right in the middle of anything and everything you could want, and their breakfast buffet was really nice as well. I stayed for 2 nights as a solo traveler and was very comfortable the entire time, and the staff was also very pleasant and accommodating. For the location and the quality of the hotel and its staff, I highly recommend Catalonia Square.

Friendly and 5 star quality service. Amazing location. Great facilities to work. Beautiful rooms that are quiet, no noise comes in from outside in the hall. Highly recommend, and can’t wait to come back!

Great hotel! Rooms are VERY spacious.

The receptionists were all extremely nice to us.

Location is PERFECT: near the metro, the shops, the ramblas….

Breakfast was quite good.

The swimming pool is oriented to NW which makes the sun only visible towards the end of the day but the water seems to be heated, so not a big problem!

Parking is possible but we parked at a location 300m away using Parclick, which cost us 45€ for the week (instead of 25€/24h @ the hotel).

Animals are welcome (we had a cat for 20€/day + 200€ caution deposit).

Very good experience. If only their WiFi was a tad faster or more reliable. But overall worth it.

Stayed at hotel catalonia 8 years ago. Still have fond memories of this hotel. The staff food well everything was great. Next time i travel to Barcelona there's only one place i would stay. I've recommended this place to all.....
