Restaurant Òleum

During our visit to Barcelona, we had one of the best lunches inside the museum. We enjoyed an unobstructed view of Plaza Espanola and the city. We opted for the set menu that included a drink, appetizer, main course, and dessert, and we found the price to be very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Everything we had was delicious, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona.

We didn't have a reservation before our visit, but we were able to quickly make one when we found the spot. We were happy that they were able to accommodate us.

Such a delight to find this beautiful restaurant inside the museum with amazing views and a relaxing experience. The food was delicious and a perfect way to finish the tour around the museum after climbing the stairs to the roof view. And just outside an impressive dome with artwork. A great way to see the city from up high while keeping your tummy very happy.

Oh my goodness. What an unexpected delight and treat. We came to MNAC for the art but the food was equally as superb. The restaurant on the first floor is incredible with its high mirrored ceiling and stunning views of the city. We were fortunate enough to have a table by the window and the tasting menu we ordered between us was ALL REALLY GOOD. The waiting staff were polite, friendly, discreet and helpful. It has lifted our experience in Barcelona to another level. Food pics and tasting menu attached! Enjoy!

Tasting menu was absolutely delicious. Small portions, but by the dessert you feel satisfied. Price was reasonable as it comes with wine or beer. The view of the city is stunning! Very friendly staff. You would never think a museum restaurant would be this good. A true hidden gem!

A great lunch experience. The jewel of this restaurant is the place. Inside the museum, it’s a luxurious interior with a great view of the Magic Fountain. On a sunny day specially, it’s amazing.

The food is good for the price, nothing out of this worlds, but really good.

Amazing place with a beautiful view, the food is excellent and for the price, there is no way I will complain. After 3 hours walking around the museum, we were glad to have this experience.

Such a good restaurant! I was a bit sceptical after reading so many negative reviews but from the moment I stepped in I had the best service and good food. The female waiter is fantastic - such good sense of humour! The menu for 29 euro had a lots of varieties and the plates I chose were perfect!

i do not know why it is low rated but just by my experience the food are good. it is not so expensive restaurant in terms of its location.

20-30 euros you would have a nice lunch with drinks! the glass of wine is very cheap around 3-5 euros.

i came by chance as i really did not know there is a restaurant in the castle and just besides the museum.

just one thing: only cafe or drink is not allowed and you must order a dish firstly.

very nice view of Barcelona and a place escape the noise outside. Quiet and clean! good staffs as well. They close very early at around 4pm. so must come early!

Great place for lunch! Ribs are 🤩 amazing. Best to go with a group and take two or three hours.

Great views. Laid back and cool. Even though within a museum, which lowered my expectations initially.

Accommodated me coming a little after 3 pm when they were closing at 4. The ensalada langostino was recommended and it did not disappoint. Great stop if you’re ever in the art museum.

We had two executive menus for lunch (28.80€ per person) that included first and second course, desserts and drink and we left the restaurant full and happy.

While waiting for the ordered food, the waiter brought us some olives.

First courses were on the one side raviolis with ham and tomato sauce and on the other side spinach with poached eggs. They were a good way of starting the meal. Non of them were impressive, but very tasty.

As second courses we both ordered paella with seafood. It was served at the perfect temperature, with fresh fish and seafood and at its cooking point. Rice was perfectly cooked and the lower part was not burnt at all. They were pretty good.

The best part came with the dessert (see the pictures below). They became the perfect ending for a wonderful meal. They looked perfect, and the taste was even better than the appearance.

The service was all the time polite, nice, fast and they cared about us (they even borrowed us a jacket). Definitely, they were a great part of this experience.

Many people complain about the high price while writing a review, but in my opinion it is completely worth it. People want to have the good food, the best views and the comfort of a luxury restaurant but are not willing to pay for it. You can find other options if you do not want to eat here: a cafe that charges 18 euros for a two dish menu and that did not look as comfortable as this restaurant or going down the mountain to Plaça Espanya.

It will not be my usual place for going to have lunch or dinner, as it is out of my everyday budget, but definitely a place where I will go once in a while.

I got the Eggs and my wife got the Pig. The eggs were amazing and must be had with an order of bread. I was expecting a tuna salad of sorts. No. It is a creamy delight with deliciate flavors and just the right burst of saltiness with the anchovy. I would eat it again and I would recommend it. Do not get it if you do not like runny eggs, but I would not worry about these things here.

It is a restaurant with an unbeatable location, with spectacular views of Barcelona. A very well prepared meal, a very professional staff. The best option after visiting the different rooms of the museum where it is located.

This place offers a great panoramic view of Barcelona and it has real AC! The food presentation is great but the taste is nothing to brag about. Service is as expected for Europe. Reservation is recommended unless you arrive before 1PM.
