Alexandria Zoo

We had very good days at the Alexandria Zoo. We visited the zoo several times during our vacation. I really liked the contact system for communicating with animals. Each animal can be fed and touched. Of course, the city administration should pay attention to the fact that the zoo needs reconstruction and updating in a modern way. Landscape design to make places for animals more spacious and comfortable. Then the cost of entrance tickets will increase, additional services will appear, which will bring even more profit to the zoo and will allow the animals to be kept in good conditions, making the animal menu more diverse. And to provide better care for the animals, it was frustrating that many of the animals are very dirty and no one keeps them clean. I feel very sorry for the lions. They are under a lot of stress, in a small, dirty, stinky enclosure. They need more space for movement, greenery, air. I really hope that positive changes will come.

My family and I had an incredible time at the Alexandria Zoo! From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were greeted by friendly staff who were passionate about the animals and eager to share their knowledge. The exhibits were well-maintained and provided ample space for the animals to roam. We especially loved the interactive experiences like feeding the giraffes and petting some of the smaller animals. The layout of the zoo was easy to navigate, and there were plenty of benches and shaded areas to rest. The highlight of our visit was seeing the majestic lions and playful monkeys. Overall, a memorable experience that we'll definitely be returning to! Highly recommend for families looking for a fun and educational outing.

Very suited to kids and family

Very nice place. I've been here twice, Each time it was very fun. Just make sure to bring some food, you might get hungry. Also bring money just in case. There were many animals, And there was even a flamingo! there was a hippo, but be very careful, it almost bit me because I was very close to it. There were lions, of course, and there was a giant bear! Again, Be careful. there were monkeys, too. There were giant turtles, Haha. It was wonderful, but make sure to be prepared when you decide to go.

When they tried to update they just focus on making money not on improving the resources which are totally different

At the middle of the week, the zoo becomes empty of people so it becomes a very good place to relax and enjoy the time with the kids alse affect with the environment.

Great small zoo. With Giza Zoo closed for renovations (9/2023), this is the next best option. They have a very nice Jungle Zoo, supplement ticket 25LE

It needs animals and cleaning

Many cages were empty, the lions are not in good condition there.

Wonderful place for kids to enjoy seeing & feeding various animals

It was my first time visiting this zoo. I was totally thrown back by the lack of care for some of the animals.

Positive points
1-Very good place to visit & see various animals.
2- low price of tickets.
3- good green areas to play.
Negative points

1-animals looks like very tired & lazy and sick.
2- very bad smells.
3- to feed any animal you have to pay.

Recommendations
1- good housekeeping must be performed to remove bad smells.
2- additional good care to the animals to be active & in good health
3- add new animals like elephant 🐘 and giraffe 🦒.

Amazing place but its needed more development as bring more animals as Elephant,Giraffe and hippo

Best place to visit with children in Alexandria.

A great place for a family day off kids can watch the wild animals learn a lot about them take pics with lion! And even feed them and same to many other families

Enjoy feeding the animals and taking pictures with them.
Very spacious and fun rides.
Just specify if you want the ride to be slower and remember to take lots of 5EGP bills to hand out as a tip to feeders:)
