El Horreya Cafe

My friend who grew up in Cairo took me here as it’s one of the oldest pubs in the city and presents a cross-section of everyday life in the city. Beer, coffee, cigarettes and tea - it’s a great exposure to another side of Cairo and I loved the people watching

Horreya is a place I hope never changes and never closes. It's the soul of downtown Cairo, in one cold refreshing Stella bottle. The waiter has worked there for 20 years! Legendary. Don't miss it!!!

Great bar with a nice history and lovely environment. Particularly welcoming to foriegners as well as locals. Staff are also friendly and very helpful

Amazing beer-odrome, none stop beer flow, super relax scene, packed but spacious, very cheap and over all a sence of bodegon bar. Recommended 100% if you looking for getting hammered.

Very old bar located at downtown cairo, it still had the old authentic bar vibes. You would feel like you went back in time when you go there.

You enter this once elegant now rundown cafe, take a seat and a man immediately appears with a bottle of beer in his hand that he opens as he gives it to you.
Beer is almost the only product consumed but it's a relatively quiet place with civilised clientele. Loved it.

A wonderful old beer place for local alcoholics) There's no food, only endless bottles of Stella. The barman keeps bringing you more and more, he just opens a bottle for you, so you have to accept it)

Quite authentic and affordable place despite some other tourists being there as well. The service is very fast and the beers are nice and cold :)
