One of the best markets in the entire old Cairo, I would say you can definitely buy anything from here with good prices and also this place is good for just hanging out eating and drinking and enjoying the beautiful vibe of the authentic Arabian culture. There are museums here for which you have to buy tickets and they are open from 9:00am to 5:00 pm in evening so if you are willing to go there this is a must visit place for you as a traveller.

An all inclusive bazaar that is located in the old town with narrow lanes full of vendors. You can find anything including souvenirs, spices, clothing and materials and food over here. The pricing is marked higher as all tourists visit the place but if you can bargain, you can find a good deal.

It was an amazing bazaar. You can find lots of amazing things. You can buy souvenirs and they have lots of different products. If you bargain, you can get the products at a much more affordable price.

You should definitely visit this old town. You will find everything you need from souvenir to home accessories. It’s very antique and presents Egypt culture in a very nice way.

I felt honored and humbled to be able to visit the Mosque, listen to the call for prayer and then spend some time at the market. Make sure you stop and have an Egyptian pancake. Walk for a bit, find good deals on souvenirs, and then stop for tea with mint midway through the market. You will find anything you are looking for, from feed to clothing to shisha. This place has it and at a good price.

Good place to feel market and nationality peculiarities of Egyptian. Pleasant and ready to give a discount!
We wandered the streets and saw a lot of interesting architectural buildings in market area.

Gold, clothes, dishes, souvenirs, restaurants, sweets - all of them you can find here.

This place is full of activity and I loved the atmosphere. As a tourist per usual you may get approached but nothing ridiculous. Just politely say no and you can still enjoy your time. Prob one of the more authentic areas

This is a huge market and easy to get lost in. It's like a city within a city and there are several mosques worth visiting. I walked through the market with a small tour group for 45 minutes, and then we had about an hour for shopping. The vendors are very aggressive. If you say "no thank you" or engage in any way, they will slow you down. If not interested, it is best not to respond and keep walking. Also, you have the upper hand if you don't walk into the shop. If you go into the shop, they may block your way if you try to leave without buying something. Also, be careful with currencies. Egyptian pounds and dollars are accepted. One of my travel mates negotiated $3 for an item. She asked to pay in pounds and was told 180 pounds. About 30 pounds equal a dollar. She should not have been charged more than 90 or 100 Egyptian pounds. It's hard to know what items should cost. Museums and official gift shops will have fixed prices with good and higher quality. There is a markup, but somehow, I'm okay with that. Street vendors and markets will have street vendor quality. Here is a quick list to get an idea:
Tee shirt - $3 or less, 2 for $5 is an excellent price
Scarves- $1 to $2
Canvas bags - $1 to $2
Egyptian rulers - $1 or less
Dress - $5 to $8 or less
Blouse-$3 or less
Maps, pamphlets, small information books - $1 to $2
Small Pyramids, sphinxes, etc -$1 to $3
Papyrus work - on the street, these are fake -$1 to $3
Magnets normally pack of 6- $1
Bookmarks - 10 Egyptian Pounds (equivalent to about 30 cents) or less

Of course, this list isn't all-inclusive. The point is, you shouldn't be paying a lot for things in a market or off the street. Make sure to check everything you buy for defects. If you want good quality items like alabaster, papyrus, spices, and perfumes, make sure the shop is reputable. You can negotiate in some, but spices and perfumes are normally non-negotiable.

Restroom - If someone is handing you tissue and / or paper towels, it's a service - 10 Egyptian Pounds (equivalent to about 30 cents) is the normal tip. No coin money is accepted.

Remember, nothing is for free. For example, if you are told where to stand to take a good picture, a tip is expected. Please be careful. It's not a good idea to let random people give you directions. Be careful about giving someone your phone to take a picture. They may walk off with you running behind them. You may have to pay a tip to get your phone back.

I really enjoyed the market and felt safe. There is a lot of security everywhere. But it's important to be aware of your surroundings.

El-Khalili Market in Cairo is a vibrant tapestry of colors, scents, and treasures. Navigating its labyrinthine lanes is a journey through time, with stalls offering a kaleidoscope of goods. From intricate crafts to aromatic spices, the market immerses you in Egyptian charm. There was something comforting about this place and reminded me of all the hustle and bustle in the markets back home in India.

Bargaining adds a fun element to the experience. A must-visit for those seeking a taste of Cairo's rich history and bustling energy!

One of my favourite places in Cairo.

It's so crowded, it's so chaotic, but at the same time so "natural" and full of everything.

This place definitely has a lot to offer. You can find local stores with all types of souvenirs (however, be aware that here, you'll pay very overpriced prices, so unless you go here with a native to negotiate prices, avoid buying many souvenirs in this market). You can find a lot of local cafes and restaurants (also, they are very overpriced; for instance, a koshary dish will cost you up to 200 EGP). And you can find fresh fruits being sold in the middle of the street.

Enjoy how chaotic this market is, lots of tourists around but definitely worth visiting. The architecture is beautiful.

In front of this market you have one of my favourite mosques in Cairo, the Al-Azhar Mosque, but beware that due to the praying on Fridays, you will not be allowed to get in on this day. Additionally, my favourite mosque, the ashtoning Muhammad Ali Mosque is just 10 minutes away by car.

Situated in a traditional hub of local shops, tea houses, and shisha cafes, this bustling area is known for its lively atmosphere. Be cautious of pickpockets due to the crowds, but the overall experience is pleasant, accompanied by vibrant live music.

One of the oldest markets in Cairo! This place is extremely vibrant and it is a great place to buy souvenirs and try some of Cairos famous street food!

Make sure that when you come here, you come ready to bargain! No price is fixed and everything is negotiable!

I recommend trying the knafe and the koshary that is sold on the streets for an authentic street food experience!

I also recommend that you visit around 4 in the evening to catch all pf the buildings light up on Al Moez street! Be sure that you know if you visit around this time, you will NOT be able to get an uber from this area until about 8 pm due to traffic!

Interesting place. The bazaar has loads of aggressive vendors. But probably a good place to buy souvenirs. There is an American style restaurant there that has good food at reasonable prices. I have a photo of the outside here. It's called Naguib Mahfouz Coffee Shop. There will be a wait, but it's worth it.

Lovely historic place with a bar restaurant bang in the middle. Can't remember the name of restaurant but it was like a voyage back in the 60s or even earlier. Had a very memorable experience
