One of the most welcoming places in Turkey and especially in Bourse allows worshipers to casually pray where they want when they want in a mixed company. it's located at the heart of Turkey and surrounded by historical places The ablution fountain inside the mosque sparkles under the bright light of the central dome. The massive calligraphy printed on walls is rare, impressive, and inspiring. Photographers are welcome to take pictures. Bursa must-see. it's located near Aya Sophia and the place is full of people and you can feel the prayers once you are praying there

Great place to visit as it's the original Blue mosque and older than the one in Turkey unfortunately most of the blue ceramic tiles has been stolen and transferred to the blue mosque in Istanbul

Beautiful mosque, but the guard won't be very friendly if you don't pay him well.

Fantastic. Well worth the visit. Alas, the original patterned floor was not saved.

Nicely maintained. The caretaker was tending to the lovely trees in the courtyard and also had obviously just finished vacuuming when I arrived. Some of the reviews say " nothing special ". Certainly it is modestly sized and you can walk around and see everything in five minutes, but if you can sit quietly and enjoy the breeze and the birds twittering in the trees with a busy city just outside the walls.......

Lovely Islamic artifact building
The name "Blue Mosque" derives from its East wall, the Qibla (direction of the Ka'ba, toward which believers turn to face for prayer) tiled from floor to ceiling in beautifully colored Majolica, the predominant shade being blue. This floral tile work was a later addition from one of the renovations carried out by Ibrahim Aga Mustahfazan. These tiles are in the style of ceramics manufacture in Iznik in Turkey, although the quality suggests they are provincial imitations possibly from Damascus.

The Aqsunqur Mosque is very characteristic of the Mamluk architecture, a carefully composed monumental faade, it presents the street viewers with a view of a tall dome, elaborate carved surfaces and a slender minaret. Instead of the usual position at the portal, the minaret is strategically located at the southern corner of the faade, which projects into Bab al-Wazir Street. This provides it with a complete visual domination of the street and the surrounding area.

I visited this mosque many years ago when it was almost derelict we went up the minaret which was a nightmare. It has just reopened (4/2015) after some serious renovation. They have done a wonderful job. There was no charge and no hassle.

It's a beautiful, holy place..lies in one of old Cairo's busiest streets....still serenity is what you get inside it ....guess it's one of it's kind with those beautiful blue ceramics decorating its walls ....it has a quiet ,beautiful open yard with some palm trees..as usual, all those places need due care & then ,they are outstanding!

One of the hidden gems in old Cairo
Was built by a'k sonkor in memlouk era
Contains 3 mausoleum/tombs one for the prince who built it, one for the king of that era, last one for Othman prince who renewed it.
Must go place, tombs aren't open for public yet you can find it's photos available

Built in 1347 by the mamluk prince "Ak Sunkar/the white falcon" and was renovated by blue decorated tiles around 1650 by ottoman janissary general "Ibrahim Agha Mustahfizan".

Always open and has a mini garden in the middle of it. Avoid scam, there is no ticket or entrance fee.
