The museum displays many artifacts collections from the ancient period including mammies. Very interesting and informative especially if you have visited other historical places. There are also souvenirs shops and cafe’s, perfect to end the visit. Highly recommended :)

Such a fascinating and majestic museum. It includes a lot about the history of the Egyptian civilization starting from ancient Egypt to Islamic Egypt.
It also displays many thousands of years old mummies, just imagining the idea that you are standing next to 5 thousand years old kings is a whole other feeling that you need to go there and try it for yourself.
It has a very distinct architectural design as well.
Definitely worth a visit 💯

Get there early. I arrived right when they opened at 9 am. As I was leaving at about 11 am, hordes of people were arriving.

Also, there's no photography in the hall of mummies. Don't let that stop you from going in, though! It's a great exhibit. The design makes it feel like you're in a tomb yourself.

They have temporary exhibits on ancient Egyptian cuisine and traditional Egyptian textiles right now. Both are worth a visit, and you can get in with your general admission ticket.

Fantastic museum showcasing the royal mummies. I saw them in the old museum in 2019, but they are much better presented here.

Aside from the mummies there is an excellent room on fabrics (this is on the left before you go through the barriers into the main hall) that features 4000 year old garments right up to more modern fabrics.

The main room contains hundreds of objects covering prehistory up to the modern era. Don't miss the huge statue of Akhenaten or the golden coffin.

A great museum.

Oh my. The mummy exhibit was so amazing. Soo many mummy in very good condition figuring the time that's passed. History behind all of them. (no photos allowed in mummy exhibit)

Upper level has lots of art and statues. It was cool, but I feel the star of this museum was the mummies.

A small coffee shop and a gift shop. Outside there a cool walkway towards a lake

Absolutely must visit. The museum is in the center of the city. Entry fee was 600 EGP if I remember right.
The museum highlights all of Egyptian history from Pharoic times to Islamic. Over 3000 years of artifacts.
I was amazed.
There is a separate section for mummies where 22 mummies are kept. Your guide is not allowed inside this section. But for the others a guide is recommended. While almost everything has well described name plates and boards, a guide tells an interesting story always.
The museum gift shop is nice, and I found it reasonably priced too. Products are genuine and a good variety. Don't buy papyrus paintings from this gift shop as it's machine printed, and not hand painted.
Most people choose between this and the older Egypt museum. I would recommend do both.

Amazing experience from the Entry till the end of your visit. The way the museum is designed to show the Egyptian history along the years is astonishing!!!
And the mumy's part is the most fascinating.

Absolutely enjoyed. Had a guide who helped explain everything to me in more detail. There are arrows showing you the chronological order to view the artifacts. The Royal Mummies Hall is worth the visit as well.

This is the best place in entire Giza .
I would rate it above pyramid and sphinx also .
So much of history of mankind .
Very neat and clean .
Ticket is bit high for foreigners as compared to to locals but still its worth

First time I saw mummies in my life and oh got its overwhelming experience.

No need of guide ,everything is written in English and Arabic .
A must visit place

A relatively new and very well done museum. The big draw is the new kingdom mummies, which are stunning and well signed. No photos allowed. The rest of the exhibits are full of interest and again, ample info. It's not huge, but worth at least an hour. Good souvenir shop and cafe.

Absolutely mind blowing experience while visiting this museum.....must add to travel itinerary while visiting Cairo. Obviously the artifacts are top notch and the mummy collection is amazing. The building itself is a wonder to behold and very well laid out and organised with ample places to pick up souvenirs and Egyptian paraphernalia

Beautiful place but book your private tour. They been saying they will open to the public for past 20 years. Not yet but well worth it

It is a very nicely maintained and themed museum. Should be on must do list of things of anyone interested in ancient culture & civilization. The Royal Mummies exhibits are a true delight. Kudos to the team who ensure that they remain intact

An amazing experience that I went another time on the weekend!
The staff is veryyyyy polite starting from the security of the gates all the way out!
I am very happy and proud of the politeness I have seen.

I just hope people who visit the mummies section to have some respect and comply to rules and directions of the security working there because it says do not touch or take pictures.

Best Experience, Specially looking at the mummies. The ancient things preserved in museum are really eye catching.
I strongly recommend to take a guide instead reading the available information.

Amazing museum. Great history. Best of all was seeing 22 mummies! Very surreal experience. Leaves you with goosebumps. Very well planned and layout was one way system. Not allowed any photography when seeing the mummies. They have a nice cafe overseeing the river nile.

What a great place to visit. Buying tickets was so easy there was no queue at all. There is a brioche inside for some quick food, entering the main hall was so easy and the place is air conditioned we had a tour inside the hall where you can see items for all eras starting from Pharos time till Coptic Egypt, Islamic Egypt and till Mohamed Sli era, then at the lower level you can see all the mummies which are incredible some of them still have hair and teeth till now, the whole place is hilarious but the most fascinating one was there was an artificial limp which was done in the pharaoh era. I totally recommend this place

Amazing building! It was my favorite museum of all! Super interesting and everything very organised and well lighted up! The mummy exhibition was just incredible! You just need more than 2 hours inside, and there is also the lake outside where you can have a nice walk

Probably the best ethnographic museum I have visited so far. Even though I think the mummies belong to their burial site rather than a museum, I was positively surprised to see than an effort has been made to present them in a respectful way. They were impressive and worth the expensive price of the entrance ticket. Prices Jan 26 2024.

very clean and organised. Starting with the garage or the parking lot that was spacious and very clean. The entrance has a lovely staircase and then an open air roof that has amazing pyramid like statues .The royal mummies hall is amazing and very organsied and self explanatory loved the dimmed lights gave a very special vibe. The main hall had many sections that were explained at the entrance of the hall. There were videos that explained everything around . There are more halls that were amazing too . Also there is brioche diore an amazing restaurant that has an exceptional breakfast. Totally recommended 👌
