It's a integral part of Egypts rich history. Definitely worth a visit if you're into religious tourism.
Great mosque. Its design is awesome. It is located in a crowded area. There are many other islamic places to be visited around it. Parking is not so easy.

I visited the Mosque & the Shrine of AlSayeda Aisha (Allah Please her) & prayed inside . The spiritual atmosphere was fantastic & comfortable . The Square there is popular & full of street vendors selling everything cheap.

We can say it is very good centre in 🇪🇬 Egypt, the mosque it self is very holy place for most of Egyptian muslims, outside the mosque, less than 100 metres, Micro buses to almost everywhere in Cairo with average of 5 to 10 EGB, it means half 💶 Euro

The tomb of Sayyida Aisha remained until around the 14th century as a simple shrine consists of a square chamber topped by a dome based on two rows of the muqarnas . In the Ayyubid  era, a school was established next to the dome. When Salah al-Din al-Ayyubisurrounded the four Islamic capitals of Egypt, Fustat, al-Askar, Qataim and Cairo with one wall during the siege by the Crusaders, the wall had separated the dome from the rest of the large scale cemetery area, City of the Dead. Thus Salah al-Din established a gate in the wall and called it a Gate of Aisha. Today the gate is known as Bab al-Qarafa. The old building was demolished and reconstructed in the 18th Century during the reign of Amir Abdul Rahman Katakhad. The mosque today is located at the beginning of Sayyida Aisha street bound to Muqattam City. Current building is a square shaped structure surrounded by hallways.
