Habib Pasha El-Sakakini Palace

An amazing building bringing back memories of old times and a feeling of loss and sadness.
A palace with soul.
A renovation is on going and only the outside can be seen but even so, this is a place worth seeing.
And don't miss the street food at the corner ;) - best food and best people ever.

The El Sakakini Pasha Palace is decorated with stunning sculptures and its ceilings are painted with scenes typical of the Rococo style.

I visited the palace today but unfortunately, it's closing for Maintenance and restoration works.

Amazing palace, rich with history. Massive and beautiful. Brilliant Architecture and design. Too bad that the country doesn't care about it " care less" and leave it as a dirty broken historical palace..

Not on the list of 'to-do' places when you have a limited time in Cairo.
But....what a gem.
Magnificent architecture set in a real neighborhood plaza.
If this place was in Barcelona or Venice, it would easily become a top tourist attraction.
So worth a visit as is the surrounding neighborhood.
Take a walk, spend a little time among the locals.
It's safe and you are among friendly people.

What a hidden gem! Not allowed inside due to renovations but it’s lovely to walk around it from the outside. Wonderful architecture& quiet spot

It's look like el baron palace! Amazing and undiscovered place in old cairo.

Beautiful abandoned palace, in an old Cairo neighborhood named after it. Worth checking out some of the surrounding architecture as well. Hope the city will restore it, and open it up to the public. As of now, you can only see it from the outside.

I really loved walking around this old house. Plus, the neighborhood has little coffee shops and there are no tourists. Not a far walk from metro station.
