Church of Saint Rita in Heliopolis

I love this church ever since I was a little girl because I used to go pray there with my mom and sometimes my aunt. There’s so much peace and comfort within it and St. Rita is actually my patron saint as I was named after her.

One of My best & favourite places ,I found peace & blessing there

Maronites rejoice in the beautiful church that reflects everything about Maronite rites. The beautiful Mar Charbel statue is impressive and Maronites worship St. Charbel for the Saint's many miracles and healings.
The church is quite large, though unable to compete with the towering Basilica nextdoor. It has its own charm and prayers in Aramaic are beautiful, even if you can't understand anything.
The St. Rita chapel on the same premises is small but exudes intense spirituality, especially for those who revere St. Rita as the saint of desperate and impossible cases.

I just see from outside and it's looks nice church

The Church is amazingly peaceful. The church is filled with heart-stealing mosaic paintings, candles are lit everywhere, everyone is kneeling on their knees praying- the perfect mood to talk to God. The story of St. Rita caught my attention so much. She basically loved Jesus so much that she prayed for years to just feel part of the pain he felt while on the cross, so she did. She spent nearly all her life with an open wound in her forehead just like the wound of Jesus because of the thorn crown he had on him. I really recommend giving it a visit- whether to pray or to see some beautiful christian artwork.

My wife enjoyed her visit, a must visit in the morning rather than at night security is very strict.

I never enter it before. But this church is a landmark in heliopolis with its special architectural design... Fantastic
