Plaza San Francisco Cuenca Ecuador

Lots if vendors, mainly clothes also souvenirs. Nice restaurants nearby. Full of colours with women dressed in their outfits. Nice place to look around for a few hours. Don't forget to look for entrance between 2 stalls, because it leads to a courtyard with various little shops where the people there do their own work and sell it. You find jewelry, music instruments and more, all handmade.

I will only live in El Centro and this is right in the center of it! I love the living here and they have everything within a 2-minute walking distance so you don't have to take cabs! If you like to live with the locals and be in the center of everything this is the best place to be!

The plaza is a great place to shop, especially inside the building Casa de Mujeres, a 2 story building filled with artesana of varying types. People are willing to negotiate a little, especially if you buy more than one. If you buy a lot sometimes you will be given a small gift, but if not ask for for 'yapita' , with a smile of course 🙂

If you are in Cuenca for vaction, this is the place to get gifts to take home. A good place to get Alpaca blankets.

This is the best place to get artesanías in Cuenca for the best prices. From chocolates shaped as guinea pigs to boxes fashioned from palm this is a one stop shop. When ever family or friends come to visit I always taken them here .

Excellent place to shop for souvenirs. Following someone else's recommendation, we bought some great alpaca articles from the back room of a shop on the north side.
