Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción

Wow, wow, wow! This cathedral makes other cathedrals pale in comparison. It's scale and grandeur totally blew me away. It's impressive both in the day and at night, although I'd recommend visiting in the day, as you can enter. And it opens at 7am, so there's really no excuse not to.
It has distinctive blue stripes domes which are even painted blue inside too. The grand entrance, which remains closed until major events is jaw dropping. The front is relatively flat and basic, but beautiful nonetheless. But the real draw is when you enter. It's absolutely enormous and it's decorated so beautifully with incredible marble.
It's also free to enter, unlike many similar places, but you are asked not to take photos and videos during services, out of respect. Likewise, you're asked to dress appropriately, so please, no flip flops and short shorts. There's also an interesting scale model of the building inside.

If you’re in Cuenca, you have to take a trip here. It cost $2 to take a trip upstairs, you have an amazing view from the top of the church.

Is an amazing place to take photos and know how people tend to build churches before, you have to walk a lot of stairs but the views are worth it

THE must do in cuenca.
You can get on top of the cathedral through the tower on the right sight. It is cheap, $2 per person for the terrace access, for $6 you can get a tour included the catacombs!
The view from terrace is stunning, a 360 degrees of cuenca!
The cathedral itself is beautiful, and the inside is nice!

Love this town and it’s so peaceful and safe to walk around. This church is beautiful and check out the tower to catch the city view.

Do not miss out on the view ln top of the Cathedral. Costs only a few dollars and the view is amazing.
Inside the cathedral are a lot of history, different building style and if you are lucky enough to get the chance to see the anual Nacimiento inside the cathedral: Do it!
Worthy if taking the trip to Cuenca, only for the sake of the impressive cathedral!

My dear companion and I were totally in awe of this marvelous cathedral. I learned immediately that photos of cathedrals, the likes of which I have seen before, are ultimately powerless to transmit the powers of such grandiose spaces. The architecture, statuary, and painting about this palace of God are simply beyond photography, let alone words, which, as you know, are only worth ~1/1000 of a picture. You just gotta see for yourself. We were tearing up beholding this majestic place, no joke. Neither one of us is Catholic but we both knelt to pray and returned the following Sunday to observe mass. We never did make it up the tower, but apparently you can do so for a small fee, so do. This cathedral is truly awesome, and I am not using that word lightly like your average American idiot. See for yourself.

Beautiful, relatively recently constructed cathedral that you won’t be able to avoid if you spend some time in Cuenca. The structure is gorgeous and can be seen from many parts of the city. You can pay to go to the top, climbing about 100 stairs or so.

A must see location. Amazing structure and beautiful scenery.

Catedral architecture is awesome, it has a lot of years of history, for me the most impressive things are domes and doors. Catedral is in the historical center, it is very safe and you can walk at night without problem. These days are cold, so I recommend to wear warm clothes.

I guess Google got it twice but by different names. But anyway, that's a beautiful cathedral and worth seeing.
