MINDO REAL LODGE

Loved our stay here. Probably the best nights sleep ive had whilst being in Ecuador thanks to the white noise of the river!

We booked the garden cabin which was the furthest away from the main building. It was quiet, secluded, surrounded by trees, wildlife and hummingbirds!

Breakfast was amazing and one of the best we had during our entire trip. The pool was a nice treat after a long day sighting seeing too.

If you are lucky enough to visit Mindo, Mindo Real Lodge is a great option for lodging! Gorgeous garden and forested setting beside a rushing river. Breakfasting while birdwatching is also a highlight! Maria, our host, gave us many helpful tips of things to do while visiting. Highly recommend!!

+ Great location. Staff were beyond lovely and helpful. Breakfast was included but we went on a trip in the morning so they waited and served us at about 11:30...fresh coffee, eggs, fruit, fresh juice all basically at lunchtime which was very kind and went beyond what we expected. By staying here you are within walking distance of the town but feel like you are in the wild. For bird lovers, there is a sunbittern living on the grounds which is pretty amazing and lots of other beautiful birds! We stayed in three different hotels in Mindo as we wanted a range of locations and this was our favourite.

This is a beautiful piece of property with comfortable rooms in a main lodge as well as some rooms in private cabins. It's on a private dirt road that is gated at night and extends down to the river with plenty of room to look around and lovely gardens. It is kept clean and the staff is excellent. The breakfasts were great. We did have a fussy light sensor in the bathroom of one room that would not stay on for more than 20 seconds at a time, but it wasn't a big deal (kind of a fun game, actually). The walk into the center of Mindo is only a few minutes and provided some nice exercise in a pretty setting. The pool is beautiful and if you are soaking at night, pay attention to the little flashing bugs in the brush once the motion lights turn off. I got some great photos of a Tucan that visited the property in the afternoon and highly recommend this lodge.

I can not praise the staff here highly enough, they are super helpful, super kind. The Total itself is located down a dirt track and through its own tall gates which are locked at night. The scenery around the hotel is just lovely, we saw hummingbirds whilst we ate breakfast, toucans near thee swimming pool and loads of other birds and butterflies I didn't know the names of. The hotel room was (std room) compact but clean and tidy with fresh bedding every day. All the area around the hotel is very well kept. The pool is snot heat debut on a warm day it was warm enough to enjoy.
The BBQ down by the river is wonderful. We had a large wood fired BBQ and sat watching the bats swooping around catching the various bugs by the flood lights.
The staff are great at advice about when to do certain activities too.

The bungalow was spacious and clean. The water from the shower was always hot. The pool is large and is cleaned frequently. The location is great, in walking distance from the center (~5 min.) and nice and quiet during night. You can relax in the hammocks watching the hummingbirds zoom by and the enjoy the atmosphere of the beautiful garden. The breakfast is rich and delicious with plenty of fresh fruit and juices. During breakfast we also saw toucans and other birds. The staff is friendly and very helpful with helping you organize DIY-trips and tours. The lady at the reception speaks great English. I also think the prices are fair for what you get.

Loved our stay at Mindo Real! Had a private cabin with a nice hammock and covered outdoor space to relax when it was raining. The breakfast was delicious and the owner helped us to organize a great birdwatching tour the morning after we arrived. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet stay out of the city center. I wish we had more time to have stayed here longer!

Beautiful place for camping (5$ pp, 9$ with Pool-Access). Facilities are super clean (we have never seen cleaner ones in Ecuador), shower has only cold water. Common area for BBQ, but no kitchen facilities. You can put your tent under a roof, which is great for the rain at night. Everything is in great condition. It's a bit tricky to find the entrance, just use the door to the lodge, probably it's closed but not locked.

Great lodge. Clean pool. Safe place and the dogs are nice. They had a great little area set aside for campers. In this area butterflies can be found of different types, it's pretty nice. The camping area is close to the river so it's loud but exactly the kind of relaxing loud you want. If you're planning on a campfire get a lot of wood because it burns fast.

The river front setting is beautiful with camping, en suite rooms or private cabins. The owners and staff are also very friendly helpful and kind.
Would recommend for accommodations or events hosting in Mindo.

Well worth the few dollars more. Excellent customer service, the property is huge, Breakfast was great, and the rooms are very clean. I am so Glad I stayed here, and I look forward to returning next year.

Very tranquil place to stay. Lush vegetation all around with lots of birds. Breakfast is good and the staff are helpful and friendly with enough English to give you the right info.

The best accommodation in Mindo, for sure! There is a great swimming pool and the garden is just spectacular, 100% recommended!

Mindo Real exceeded our expectations. Only a few minutes walk from the main street, it's tucked away in a tropical paradise. The grounds are so beautiful and serene that we decided to cancel an activity just to spend the afternoon at the lodge. We had a wonderful day lounging by the pool and listening to the birds. It's also a short walk down to the river.

The staff is very kind and helpful and made our stay a delight. Breakfast was huge and delicious!

Mindo Real made our visit even more special. It's perfect for couples, families, or large groups. I highly recommend!
