Beautiful Waterfall, it is a trek to get to if the day is rainy. We rented a scooter from Samana and entered El Limon side from “El Limon Parking” (on Google Map, please search), and hike in.

The entry is 50 pesos. Don’t fall into the trap of anyone trying to stop you to pay higher price of the ticket and also don’t pay some random guy trying to show you where to park. The parking is at the end of the path, but probably only fit 1 car there, then you can start backtracking to see there are any other parking to park.

Our scooter parking price was 100 pesos at the entry area.

We did not take the horse. It is doable if you have property shoe, definitely NOT flipflop to hike the trail.

We did not use any guide as the path is a clear path to the waterfall. The path is mostly stone paved and only spot places with mud, and at the entry area, we need to trek through the river first. It is only knee deep, not difficult.

It is about 1hr to 1.5hr to hike in, you will get to see the mountain range and you will see the lookout to the fall as well. Bring at least 1 litre of water, and some snacks with you.

The path is going uphill and then once getting to the look out then that is a downhill to the waterfall.

At the waterfall, there is always someone trying to take your phone to “help” you take photo, they eventually want compensation.

Overall it is a very nice, moderate hike to the waterfall. No need for a guide.

Loved it. Get in the water. Very muddy trail and slippery to get to but well worth it. Beware of the aggressive horse guides they demand a fat tip. Don't be scammed and tip what you think is appropriate.

The waterfall its beyond beautiful and the water temperature its perfect and refreshing, exactly what you need after the walk to get there.

You will get the offer to arrive in a horse and be with a tour guide, but the walking path it's accesible an easy to make. Unless you have an specific health condition I recommend to do the path to the waterfall by foot, its an amazing experience!

You can arrive to the waterfall from different access points and paths, I recommend taking the path that its called "El sendero del café", so you can enjoy the waterfall from a front view.

Bring sunscreen and water/snack, also make sure you wear comfortable shoes, no flip flops, because there's mud in some places and it can get slippery. An amazing experience overall!

This is a really beautiful spot. For sure worth a visit. Spectacular views. I was able to fly my Drone and got some great footage of the Waterfall.

Such a great experience! Beautiful water and wonderful hike of the jungle. Highly recommend a guide because they pick you fresh fruit and you most stop at the market. Best stuff I found in Samana. And my friend got a horse when someone noticed she was struggling on the hills!!!

A beautiful place for nature enthusiasts. The trail is not difficult if you have appropriate footwear. I did not use a guide or a horse; I do not support businesses that exploit animals. Attempts were made to persuade and stop me, but I stubbornly decided to go alone. I did not encounter anyone along the way. I was surrounded by beautiful nature and the sounds of the jungle. It was a wonderful moment. At the waterfall, I met a group of tourists. The waterfall is spectacular. Unfortunately, I didn't want to stay longer as I was surrounded by vendors and a man with a parrot. I just wanted to have those moments for myself and peacefully take photos, but I couldn't shoo away these men. So, I continued to a smaller waterfall where I could admire nature in peace. I recommend going much earlier if you like to be alone and enjoy nature in silence.

Amazing adventure. If you think you are brave enough to do the entire trip on foot be aware it is 3 miles roundtrip plus the 130ft down to the fallas and back. The easiest solution are the horses, but very worth it.

The pinnacle of serenity! Mind boggling ecosystem; on the way to the falls you will see amazing palm 🌴🥥, mango 🥭, coco 🍫, coffee ☕ and avocado 🥑 trees. The hike can be considered moderately difficult. Mules are available but personally not recommend to ensure safety. Swimming in the pool beneath the falls is a refreshing experience; however, swim with your shoes on to prevent foot injury from rocks.

Such a beautiful waterfall, the hike to it was very muddy and rocky and a bit of a work out and it was refreshing to go into the cold water and to enjoy this beautiful waterfall. Be careful, lots of rocks and rock formations the first 2-3 meters going into the water, definitely bumped my knees a few times.

Beautiful place.
We took the horse back riding to go to the falls which takes around 45 mins.
Air transat , the tour company ,has mandatory safety rules for this, like wearing helmets for the ride but I saw many other groups not doing so. Having a bandena would be nice for the helmet for senatory reasons.
Bring bathing suits to swim in the natural pond under the falls.
If you have not done horse back riding before the key is to lean backwards when going downhill and lean forward when going up hill.

We did quads then took Donkeys, honestly a walkable distance. Such a natural beauty. Only advise beware for tourists trap before the climb down and their are lots of stairs.

I been here a few times and the trip is really fun. The hiking itself is a bit tough, the trail can be full of mud and horses poop. However, the waterfall itself is worth the journey. You have to pay 50 peso before entering the waterfall area. Also, there's a gift shop near the waterfalls entrance as well. So bring some cash.

So pretty here. Just make sure you wear proper footwear. Get ready to walk many stairs. But definitely worth it. The water itself not so deep closer to the edge, many rocks so don't dive. Swim closer to the falls than it got deeper.

Awesome! This is the first waterfall in my life!
Actually firstly you see on the trail the little brother of the El Limon waterfall, also very beautiful.
We did not take horses, walked 40 minutes on foot, an interesting trail through the jungle and the river over the hills, excellent fitness.

Don’t take a mule! It can be hiked very easily! We were there after major rainstorms, so it was mostly mud, but you can rinse off in the rivers presented to you along the way. The jungle is lush and green, and the waterfall…as impressive as everyone else here has already told you! We went at 4 or 5 in the evening and were scolded by a woman who was supposedly working / charging us for the parking area, but if you can swing a visit later in the day, you’ll beat the crowds. 😊 Just be mindful, the sun starts to set at 6pm and you need 30 mins each way. It can be a little spooky if darkness falls while you’re in there because the bats start swooping in front of you! Nonetheless, worth it!!

Please read! You don't need a horse ride to get to the waterfall! The walk is very easy and it is short (you will be told something else at the entrance). The path though is very hard for the horses that are not being taken care of. I suggest to think twice before riding them and stop creating demand for this cruel service. 2km walk will be healthier for you and for the animals. Just make sure you take shoes not slippers as it is muddy and slippery sometimes.
As for the waterfall it is great. Entrance 50 pesos at the gate (you get an official ticket from the park). You can swim under the waterfall and enjoy chilly water.

5 stars for nature... 1 for local attitude. I understand that they want to make money but note like that. First of all, they, also the company' s guide that we have from punta cana, told us that we need a horse to get to the waterfall. The horse are small and look very bad (skinny, sufferers). Me and my wife decided to walk. But the guide "offers" a local guide... apparently to guide us.
YOU DON'T NEED A GUIDE. The path to the waterfall is obvious. We made the way to the waterfall in 30 minutes approximately. What the guide didn't tell us, that we have to give money to guide. A exact amount of money. We were aware that we have to give some tip. But we had only 4 dollars, cash. When we gave the money to the guide, she counted and said : it s 10 dollars!!! We said that we don't have any cash, we offer to withdraw from an atm, but there s no atm in the zone. The guide have changed suddenly the smily face and mumble something in Spanish... not good I guess.
So, be sportsman and go by your feet to the waterfall, alone, with your family or friends. Think about the poor horses.
You need indeed some good shoes, or you can borrow a pear of boots form the starting point. A pear of tall socks that matches with the boots are 3 dollars, if you don't have and want.
And... don't forget the cape. We cached a short tropical rain at the waterfall.

Must have to visit during stay on Dominikana. Do not be afraid to go there without guide. We stared from Las Terrenas by Guagua (bus stop close to cmentary) to El Limón Village, 100 pesos per person. From El Limón to Entrance by motorcycle, 25 pesos per person. At The begining You will meet many locals witch says' it is dangerous, you can not go there alone etc', do not listen. The way will take approx 1h one way. Shos to water recomended.

I recommend to visit with a tour company. Keep some tips for the horse caretakers. You can access the falls after a 25 minute horseback ride from Samaná and a 300m steep hike downhill. The Falls are connected to the Rio El limon from the North Atlantic Ocean. Nice view!

It was a great experience specially the 1 hour horse ride to get to the waterfall which made it more unique.
