Japan Plaza Bistro

We recently visited a Japanese Supermarket, which was a bit hard to find as it was hidden. However, once I walked in, I was impressed by how clean and tidy the store was, despite having a limited choice of items. They had an excellent selection of instant Ramen, as well as snacks like chips and candy. The market also had a wide variety of ingredients to make any Japanese meal, as well as kitchen utensils to accessorize your home. Although the products might be expensive due to import fees, they had my favorite drink, milk tea, which I enjoyed during my travels in Japan. I plan on visiting the store again soon to purchase some snacks and relive my memories of Japan.

The bentos, starter, sushi and sashimi are 50% off before the shop close, a lot of authentic Japanese groceries at a relatively reasonable price (comparing with other Asian supermarkets in Alexanderplatz).

What I like is their way doing business like in Japan, they offer 5% discount on the 5th, 15th, 25th of every month, collecting points, selling MHD products at a discounted price. Highly recommended for those who love Japanese cuisine, snack and sake.

I hope they expand their business in the whole Berlin like their competitors Go Asia, vinh loi and Mekong.

This a review for the small bistro right next door the japanese supermarket. They both belong to the same owner/company. The food was good. It will not blow yoir socks off, but for the prices you get a really good portion and quality. I recommend you curry with chicken katsu. The curry is not spicy but very flavorful.

Great selection, i recommend going there for japanese groceries but also ready foods like onigiri or fresh sashimi portions, i have not tried the restaurant but it looks tempting I will try that some day + big plus for me because they sell gluten free soba noodles I have not seen those in Berlin ever! There are also varietes of sauces that come in a gluten free version

Cute little Japanese spot serving curries, ramen and fun local Japanese drinks. I had the curry, meat was a bit fatty but the taste overall was good. Will try the ramen next time to make a final judgement but glad to have another tasty spot in the hood!

I feel like I’m back home in Japan! Great selection of ready-to-eat meals, fresh fish and veggies that I can’t get anywhere else in Berlin, as well as a nice restaurant next door.

The curry in their restaurant is insanely good. I really liked their starters as well. I really enjoy going there, it will stay one of my go-to places

I was waiting for somewhere like this to open in Berlin and I am so glad we have it now! Nice Japanese supermarket with a good selection of products and nice presentation. I went home with a bag full of nice things. Next door there is a bistro where you can order hot food.

The one and only proper Japanese grocery store and cafeteria in Berlin. If you're looking for cheap, generic Asian groceries, this isn't the shop for you, but if you need something you can only find in Japan (e.g. Daikon, Kabocha) you won't find it anywhere else.

Also: fantastic fresh bento boxes and onigiri!

Better than all asian supermarkets in town. Still missing a bit but quite fair selection of JAPANESE products

I had miso ramen and chicken karaage, and it was so good 👍. But I wish they had extra chilies on their menu because I like spicy.

The supermarket is amazing but the next door imbiss is also a great stop for a quick lunch. The service was very friendly and the ramen was hearty and filling.
In general it's a very authentic Japanese lunch place.

For Berlin, this has good ramen. I would go back here and eat again. Supermarket next door and a restaurant/bistro style place with curry ramen and some good looking starters. Recommended!

Finally, real Japanese grocery store in Berlin.
If you want to get the real products from Japan for reasonable price, this is the place.
What surprised me was that there are some non-caffeine teas and some other healthy items from Japan, too.

I’ve seen funny reviews about this place, that were written by someone who don’t really have experience about those type of products, or are too used to western pseudo-Asian food in Germany. Just ignore them. I as Japanese can confirm that they have what Japanese people would buy here.

Amazing selection of Japanese groceries! Feels like a piece of Japan in the heart of Berlin. Friendly staff, and also a cafeteria with delicious Japanese dishes you can eat there.

First time there and had the miso ramen and Takoyaki, both delicious! Already added to my favorites!❤ Plus the nice supermarket next door with a broad range of Japanese products, makes it a must!

Wow this place is great!!!!!! It's just opened, but I was able to get many items I need for Japanese cooking, from spices to fresh produce. Plus, there are some products that I could never find in Berlin, such as Sapporo Ichiban instant ramen (it's so difficult to find real Japanese style instant ramen in Berlin). Additionally, the prepared food (bento, sushi, onigiri, etc) is truly very delicious! I 100% recommend and I will be back very soon! Japan Plaza Bistro, がんばって！
