Dr. med. Hilmar Geisler

I would recommend this practice to non-German speakers. The lady at the reception and the doctor spoke perfect English. I felt very welcomed. The booking process was super easy, and there was no wait time at the clinic!

It’s been 5.5 years since my first visit at Dr Geisler and i don’t know why I haven’t written a review so far.
I have been facing some physical problems and visited to clinic a few times in the past months. And like every time in the past, my experience was very good.
First of all, I do not speak German and I’ve always felt welcomed and that it wasn’t an issue. Every nurse was speaking English, and the entire staff is not only friendly but always very professional, providing all the relevant information.
As for Dr. Geisler, I find his level of professionalism quite exceptional. He always reassured me. Always calmed me down. Explained everything, with an understanding of my worries and concerns. He has a unique personality and approach, and I value that.

Been a patient here since 3 years. Never had any bad experience. The staff is polite and the Doc as well.

I never write reviews but after seeing Dr. Geisler and reading reviews from other people, I felt it necessary to give my 2 cents. In fact, I'll give a whole dollar on my account of my very first visit at this practice. I arrived 15 minutes early, in true German fashion, and was greeted by a receptionist that was kind and efficient. The space was tidy, vibrant and comfortable. The wait was longer than what most people would consider acceptable but it certainly wasn't an absurd amount of time. Dr. Geisler also greeted me kindly and proceeded with an absolutely meticulous, inquisitive and informative examination. He than, in quite good English, thoroughly explained my condition, my options and his recommended course of action for a semi-serious issue I'm facing. The wait, albeit not as long as previous reviewers have mentioned, was worth it; the time he took with me was exceptional and I assume he takes his time with all of his other patients owing to the fact that he obviously cares. I don't know about you, but I'd rather wait a little longer and know that I will be taken care of properly by a conscientious medical professional. As someone who is freakishly picky and quite frankly afraid of doctors, I can confidently recommend Dr Geisler to anyone of you reading this.

On first impression, Dr. Geisler is quite direct/pratical but he means well and really care about his patients. He speaks German and English and even a little bit of French. He also usually has appointments available on short notice. The medical assistant Martine is here most days and she is so nice. I really recommend this place 😊

In 38th week of my pregnancy my regular doctor went on a vacation and referred me to Dr. Geisler for a regular check up. I was welcomed and treated extremely professionally, yet very friendly. No waiting time. Both the doctor and the nurse were very attentive. Dr. Geisler speaks English fluently, he was open to answer all my questions patiently and diligently, he seems like such a genuinely kind man. All in all a very pleasant experience and I would definitely recommend this practice.

He’s been my gyno for almost 10 years and in the past I had only had female doctors and was unsure about a male but I have to say I find him much better than my past gynos as he really takes the time to explain things and understands our fears and concerns and doesn’t just push you out of the office after 10 minutes. His staff are also very friendly. I’ve had two pregnancies with him, one of them being a high risk pregnancy, and I felt well taken care of by him and his staff. The waiting times can sometimes be a bit long but I think it’s because he takes more time with the women who have questions and concerns which then causes the appointments to be delayed for the others. Or if there is a pressing issue the staff will find a way to make an appointment for you which could of course cause delays for the others waiting. I have recommended him to friends for years who were unhappy with their own gynos.

I'm honestly really shocked reading some of the negative reviews here. I first went to Dr. Geisler three years ago and was really impressed. He and the receptionist were kind, explained things patiently, and made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed about an urgent concern.

Three years later, I tried to find a gynaecologist closer to where I live. After reading some of the reviews for the doctors close by I was actually frightened, so I went back to Dr. Geisler even though it's a 40 minute trip.

I didn't regret it. Although I did wait 30 minutes, I had factored that in to my plans so I wasn't upset.

I saw a lot of reviews mentioning a lack of empathy. I'm not really sure how much "empathy" I expect one person to exhibit to strangers every working day of their lives. I don't even know if I expect a man to "empathise" with my situation as a woman.

What I do hope for is patience, clear communication, kindness and professionalism. I don't expect medical professionals to exhaust themselves worrying about me and every other patient that walks in the door.

If great medical care is what you're looking for, I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend Dr. Geisler. A good doctor of any kind is very hard to come by in Berlin, and Dr. Geisler seems like a very good doctor to me.

Dr. Hilmar Geisler was a lovely gyno. I spoke in basic German with the receptionist but when I was unable to communicate my insurance question, she switched to English for me. Waiting time was very small, and when I went into see Dr. Geisler, he was kind enough to communicate and explain everything in English for me. He clearly explained which elements were included, and which would be an extra charge. Kind and very professional.

Great doctor, great communication, I would suggest him to every pregnant woman in Berlin. It's easy to get informations and I always have a feeling that there's no stupid question. Highly recommended.

He is the best doctor ever. He will speak to you in English anytime and he will help you a lot.

Very good experience (and it’s rare in this city). I went there urgently and in 30min I had a prescription.

Sehr guter Arzt…. der alles sachlich erklärt. Seine nüchterne Art kommt bei mancher Patientin vielleicht als Arroganz an, aber Dr. Geisler hört zu und hat viel Erfahrung. Und schließlich erwartet man an so einem Ort sachliche Kommunikation, kein umständlich „pseudo-herzliches“ Gelaber. Gehe seit 20 Jahren hin, Wartezeiten haben sich definitiv gebessert, die barsche Rezeptionistin ist weg… (und die Wartezeiten resultieren übrigens aus der Geduld, mit der hier Fragen beantwortet werden und nicht aus „dem Chaos“ - sondern Gründlichkeit… ich musste während eines Notfalls auch eine Stunde warten. Diese Verzögerung im Ablauf erklärt sich natürlich späteren Patientinnen kaum, wenn die vom Notfall nichts mehr mitbekommen haben)
