Heart of the city! Go to place for the shopprs with numerous shops among the beautiful old architecture. 5 minutes walk to the Freiburger Münster and 10 minutes to Schloßberg start point. A good connection point for Trams 1, 2 ,3, and 4.

What a wonderful day#40
The Bertoldsbrunnen is a post World War II architecture which replaced a old fountain. It’s marked the central of the Freiburg city central. Multiple tram lines commutes and exchange here, sometimes waiting for commuters for transfer. So it’s the most crowded and busy place .

Absolutely resembles the experience of a square and streets. People were walking and the tram was running. There were even shops and bicycles! 10\10.

The best place to throw oneself in during summer evenings with cool music reverberating in one's ears.

Very Old Knight's statue in Old Freiburg-City Center. Surrounded by many shopping marts like- Müller, C&A, DM, H&M, Galleria Kaufthaus, Saturn, etc. The big Cathedral, Schlossburg, University Library, Many Popular German & Foreign restaurants, beer gardens, etc are at walking distance. This place is always live. You can take a walking tour of the old town from here and can get tram towards all directions.

Beautiful old buildings, a ton of stores and restaurants, this is the centre of downtown Frieburg and you can truly feel the heartbeat of the city here. It's very very busy, keep your belongings close by, and watch out for streetcars!

Lot of shops, restaurants offer a day out in the city. Quite a few parking garages nearby but they are costly compared to the ones elsewhere in the city. Park somewhere and take a tram.

Freiburg has a nice historical city center and this is at its beginning when coming from the main station. It's a shopping street with banks, restaurants, street music players.. Very lively and nice

This statue in the city center is named after Bertold the III who founded Freiburg as a free city in 1120. His nephew Bertold V started the Freiburger Münster (cathedral) and was elected emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. However, he declined in order more effectively to continue the Zähringen tradition of protecting the autonomy of communities and cities in their realm, which included Alsace (now a part of France) much of the Black Forest, and large portions of Switzerland. The Zähringers founded Bern in Switzerland and repeatedly protected the freedom of the people against power grabs. They founded numerous free cities including Fribourg, Switzerland. The first wall of Freiburg from its founding is still visible in Augustiner Platz. Their original family castle is modest and sits above the town of Zähringen. Their legacy is impressive given the age in which they lived.

Shopping mall, downtown famous street Kaiser Joseph Street or 'Kajo' for the locals. everything starts and ends at this place in Freiburg. Here you can catch most busses or trams to explor the city, to go somewhere else and be sure to come back later here.
This is the 'middle' of Freiburg. Here are all major shops, cafés, monuments and cultural sites. Everything is a walk distance from here.
