I am travelling along and went to this amazing restaurant. Not a problem getting a seat as long as I didn’t mind sharing my table. No issue for me. I had the 1/2 pork knuckle. It was massive. In Australia that would be a full knuckle so was very impressed. It’s probably one of the best knuckles I’ve had. The crackling was very crunchy and the pork was fairly tender. The beer was good. All up cost about 26 Euros. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Munich.

Must try when in Munich! Great beer garden. Staff was very nice, helpful and efficient. The whole place is very clean and not too noisy. The sausages were amazing and the cold beer taste great. Overall we had an amazing time. We will definitely comeback next time!

Yummy traditional Bavarian food can be found here. You can also find good beer here, relax and have a good meal. We had Wurschtlplatte, Jungschweinsbraten, Dunkel, Hell here.. All is good. The restaurant has a nice setting, the waitress is friendly too.

Exceptional place with little bit of history. Had team dinner with big group. Service was excellent no delays at all. Food was very tasty and good quality. Ambiance is very pleasant and gives good vibes . Little bit expensive but worth it. Washrooms are very unique with ancient feel. At entry nice landscaping done. Booking is must at least in peak hours else you will wait for longer time . Must visit places in Munich.

Peak of German efficiency for food service out on the outdoor porch across the square of the beautiful Munich Cathedral. Portions were large and beer came out so quick it’s like they knew what we wanted before the order. Huge amount of tables means lots of easy shady seating

The Augustiner Klosterwirt is located directly at the former Augustinian monastery in Munich, where you can enjoy wonderful food, good beer and Bavarian hospitality. The Klosterwirt is a place for conviviality and tempts with hearty delicacies and finesse of regional cuisine, characterized by a love of quality. Staff is awesome and attentive and the food quality is stunning!
This is where Munich meets the world and the world meets Munich!

This was a large and busy restaurant serving a selection of traditional Bavarian food and beers. There were just two options for vegetarians but it is a meat lover’s paradise. With roast pork knuckles, snitzel and sausages cooked well and reasonably priced it is very easy to over order and leave so full you will struggle to walk!
There were also a selection of beers including a delicious wheat beer option that is super-smooth. The staff were all friendly and seemed happy to help. They allowed us to bring our dog who had plenty of space under the large table.

The atmosphere inside is great, crowded all day, the pork knuckle is the best in town and you have to order some salad to fixed greasy. And the beers were good too.

Excellent food on offer here, and the prices are reasonable. We had a smaller version of the pork knuckle and a sausage, a sauerkraut dish, and apple pie. The portions were large and everything was delicious

This is the best local restaurant that locates in MarienPlatz. There is perfect trudel , sausages and beers. Be careful of the size. Price is ok. Sometimes they have live music.

The beef broth pancake soup was too salty, but the house menu which includes it and the amazingly crispy pork knuckle 👍🏻 with 2 sausages as well as the warm Apple strudel with vanilla ice cream and nice fresh beer saved us from hot summer!

We came in just for a few drinks near the end of the night and our waiter was fantastic.

We had the last two beers out of the wooden barrel before they cleaned up.

Very clean and bright inside with lots of room. Also a large area downstairs with its own bar.

Great place if you want to get a real German brewery feel. Located across the square of the beautiful Munich Cathedral this brewery is great. Portions were large and beer came out so quick it’s like they knew what we wanted before the order. I was able to enjoy some ice cream and my partner had a delicious beer. Huge amount of tables means lots of easy shady seating

A traditional restaurant in Munich close to the city center. Very large and busy, but the service was great.

There was many options for vegetarians, including a vegetarian spaetzle, pasta, soups, salads, and obatzda.

A must try for tourists looking for traditional Bavarian food!

Stopped in here to get out of a thunderstorm. Really cool place. Great decor, efficient staff, and decent beer. One thing to know about this place is that it's the place that the locals like to go, and it's their preferred beer brand. Things like that always go a long way with me.

Awesome place to get some Bavarian food. Friendly staff who also speaks english. You would need to reserve if you want to eat here though as they are always full.

Lovely German food with awesome Augustiner beer.
I loved their Schäufele, and their Kartoffelknödel is the best one I have ever had! I am also looking forward to trying their Schweinehaxe for the next time!!!!

The first visit: we were told that our table was booked in 120min. However, since the next customer was coming too early and we had to leave in 60min (yes, the next customer was coming 1 hour earlier haha). That was no one's mistake, but I was not able to eat Apfelküchle for dessert... I wanted!
The second visit: the blackboard at the entrance showed "wait here (in German)", but no one was asking me anything for several minutes even though some waiters recognized me. This point can be improved. After having a table, my waitress came and asked me for my next drinks and so on very often. I really liked her service!
The third visit: the operation was this time perfect. I change to the five stars now.

We hit the Augustiner Klosterwirt as we wanted a traditional Bayerische Bierstube. And we got what we wanted. Is it traditional? It is. Is it turistic? It is. Lederhosen? Plenty. We arrived around 8PM and the place was packed. We waited a few minutes to be seated in the cellar with some other people we didn't know. The service wasn't able to cope with all the guests so we waited around 15 minutes for our drinks and to order our food. That was the major bringdown, but since the service acknowledged us, it was all worth the wait. Beer here is basically alright, but the star of the evening was the food. We ordered the bavarian menu and from soup through the meat platter with potato dumpling and two kinds of cabbage to apflestrudel, everything was done to perfection. Portion was huge and we couldn't finish it and there was no problem to take it home with us. After the maß of beer we also decided to try homemade liqours and as herbal and the nut liquor was great. It was really worth the wait, service was nice, food excellent, but I would recommend come either earlier or later, the main dinner time was little too much.
