Wow…very clean and organised. Though roughly 10% of the exhibits are closed, there are still much to see and marvel over. Our family have been to many zoo from San Diego to London and in comparison, this is a small zoo. But we enjoyed it immensely as we came across endangered and never seen before animals elsewhere.

Maybe there are other zoos out there that may have them but to encounter it here was an awesome experience for us.

Go visit.

The Munich Zoo is a fantastic place for a day out with family or friends. This beautifully landscaped zoo offers a wide variety of animals from around the world, and the well-maintained enclosures provide the animals with plenty of space. The zookeepers are knowledgeable and passionate about their work, which is evident in how well they care for the animals. It's not just about seeing animals; it's about learning and appreciating the diversity of our planet's wildlife. The kids' play areas and on-site restaurants make it a full-day adventure. Munich Zoo is a wonderful place for both education and enjoyment.

The best zoo I've ever been to. animals are in good health and look happy despite being in captivity. They are not confined to a small place and have plenty of room to move around. Perfect place for families with children as well as solo visits.
It's a big zoo so make sure you allocate enough time for the visit. And don't forget to bring snacks!

Amazing zoo in a beautiful part of Munich. A lot of different kinds of animals and they really look like people who are working there are taking good care of them. Tiger is a most beautiful thing I saw there. Giraffes are also amazing. Definitely worth a visit!

This zoo was quite the nice surprise on our trip to Germany as a family with young kids.

The accommodation was really nice and tidy and the habitats of all the animals were clean and spacious.

You can clearly tell the people and management that runs the place do it with passion and the caretakers of the animals do good job.

If I would live here I would definitely be a member. Keep up the good work.

Visited Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich and it's a massive place with stunning natural habitats for every animal. They seem really content. Some animals can be found resting inside their enclosures, offering a unique opportunity to observe them up close by walking behind their habitats.

Perfect for a half-day trip with little ones. Plenty of seating areas for resting, and on weekdays, it's not crowded. Highly recommended to visit with kids.

Great zoo, a lot of animals. It’s a perfect place for a weekend activity. Take into account that you need around 6hours at least in order to enjoy everything from the zoo.

One of our favorite family place in Munich. Great food, a lot of playground- what can be better for the toddler ?)
Can be tricky with the parking in summer and during the holidays.
Now when we have two kids, we are thinking to buy a one-year-pass.

Wonderful zoo and very big! Animals are kept in good conditions. My child and I only walked around two thirds of the zoo; we didn’t have enough strength to go further))
On the territory of the zoo there are children's playgrounds and a cafe.

Large space for the animals, similar to their natural habitat. Nice walk, several options to stop and have a bite or a drink. Fun for both adults and kids.

I had such a amazing time in Hellabrunn Zoo! this zoo has amazing and unique animals that I never seen before! I went there at weekday in the morning and it was pretty busy already but I have seen pretty much all the animals at the zoo which it was fantastic! so I definitely recommend you if you are in munich to check out the zoo, because it has some really good exhibits for the animals (not all, but in every zoo you can say it can be improved but they are still pretty decent exhibits) even though the price for the zoo is a bit expensive and also the fact that you need to pay for parking too it was okay but it can be impoved. overall I had amazing time at the zoo and it definitely was one of the best zoos I ever went too! but I do recommend to go at the opening hour of the zoo because it's not too busy and the animals can be pretty active and also it's pretty big zoo so make sure to have enough time that you will be able to check everything!

One of the best zoos we have ever been too.
It is clear that the animals are very well cared for. They were healthy with spaces very well adapted to their needs. The spaces are also big enough, what you don’t always see in a zoo in a big city.
There was a big variety of species, some of which are not easy to see in Europe.
The baby meerkats are the cutest thing you have ever seen!! The polar bears were very impressive as well.
And this for a very good entry price.
For families you also have two petting zoos and a lot of playgrounds.
Only the souvenirs were quite expensive, but that compensates for the lower entry price.
I would definitely recommend a visit, certainly with children (but adults will love it too).

Fantastic visit and very good value for money as a family of 5. Option of hiring a cart was useful for our youngest who's outgrown a pushchair but needed help. Huge diversity of animals to see and we saw a healthy number- none were hiding as in some places you go. Polar bears were a win as were the varieties of penguin!
Overall clean and access friendly.
Restaurant was busy but food excellent.

If you live in Munich, get a yearly pass!! It's cheap compared to the cost of entrances and then you can take a bike ride by the river and visit the zoo on any weekend. There are shields in german and english, a very well planned roundway, and multiple places to sit and look at the animals/eat both outside and indoors

Always love this place. You can meet a variety of different animal friends. Further more, it is located near Isar river with lots of hiking options.

One of the greatest zoos we've ever been. The animals are in natural habitat. Lots of species. In the begging child could interact with goats. The playgrounds are fantastic. Lots of places to eat allover the place. There are enough toilets which are clean. Overall a must if you are in Munich especially if you are with kids.
