When in attendance for any film at this particular cinema, you will be walking in history. Built in 1961-1963 Kino International is a Berlin gem for all film and architecture enthusiasts alike. Located in east Berlin all Russian influence can be noticed but there is beauty in the design of former communist area. Today Kino International does carry a historic landmark status and yes there is a concession stand. The movie I saw in the theatre was The Zone of Interest to a sold out show. Sound and picture quality were amazing. Run do not walk in Berlin to check out this historic site.

Beautiful cinema with iconic brutalist architecture. It will be closed for renovation for about 15 months from end of April 2024. Take your chance now. 🎥 🎞

A classic, big screen cinema with a nostalgic entrance hall on ground floor.

Foyer on second floor offer a great view onto Berlin TV tower.

Movies are show in original version in an all refurbished auditorium with comfy chairs.

The ultimate old school cinema experience. Huge screen and very comfy seats. The room itself is a highlight as it’s so beautiful and architecturally appealing. The only downside is they don’t have fresh popcorn - only packaged. Make sure you don’t book seats too much in the back - the ground is pretty flat. It’s really an experience!

Classic movie theater from the DDR times. Arrive early to enjoy the bar with a panoramic view of Karl-Marx-Allee. The room is big and the seats are comfortable. Note that the room is not as vertical as more modern cinemas. The sound is quite good.

To me, one of the most charming cinema in Europe. Doesn’t matter if it is not the most updated one: the sound could be better, the seats more comfortable, the screen more futuristic... no. Kino international is a experience, like driving a old Aston Martin. Just beautiful.

Kino International, with its roots in the history of East Germany, is like a cultural treasure celebrated for its timeless charm and stylish design. Imagine walking into this space – it's roomy, has a touch of classic allure, and boasts modern sound and top-notch picture quality. This is where new films get their grand premiere on the big screen. Also, every February, it joins the lineup of venues for the Berlin Film Festival. Yet, the real magic happens every Monday night at 10 p.m. Enter the Mongay film series, a regular treat since '97, bringing the latest queer films to Kino International's grand screen. It's not just any series; it holds the title of being the oldest queer film series in all of Germany. 📽🍷

This cinema has a charming atmosphere and the architecture is beautiful. The bar offers a lot of snacks including alcoholic drinks, so I could even enjoy my white wine while watching the movie. Very friendly service.

Amazing cinema. It’s got a different vibe: the old-style entry, the bar facing Karl Marx Allee and its old communist (plattenbau) buildings, the central room with its long courtains...

The image and sound quality is good. Only “but is the inclination of the room: if you have someone tall in front of you, you view may be partially blocked.

Tickets can be bought in advance in its website (0,50€ plus).

Saw Banshees of Inisherin here. Great theater with lots of seating, huge screen, great sound. Classy bar/lounge area upstairs as well.

It’s an old soviet movie theatre designed in constructivism style. Nice choice to watch Oppenheimer due to the old fashion style. However seats are not very comfortable for the movie that lasts 3 hours. It would be good to make a brake during such a long movie. Air conditioning is fine.
