A great place to warm up in bad weather. When you enter, you will be amazed by the wonderful environment. After taking a good look around and taking photos, you can order the coffee you want.
The employees here are helpful, the atmosphere is wonderful, all we have to do is leave a positive comment.

What a cool place to have 'Kaffeeklatsch'! Museum items from around the world to see and touch. Huge variety of different coffees (of course) and a fair selection of cakes. Both of our cakes were on the dry side but still delicious. The excellent coffees compensated it big times.

Superb ambience. Transports you to a different time and place. Staff is friendly, coffee is a bit pricey but that's normal around here.

Loved the vibe here, it’s very nice to sit in on a rainy day with a coffee. Many coffee trinkets & info panels here and there.
The barista was very kind and welcoming, he told us about the history of German Mischkaffee & recommended us some Tansanian and Kakaobohnen coffee beans recently roasted at Burg. He also gave us a quick tour of the roasting machine still in use since 1930!

Nice coffee bar with the opportunity of visit tours. I had only a coffee which was really good and one of the best. I didn’t have any cake but there were plenty and looked tasty.

Wow! What an eye opening experience! An absolute must for all the senses! If you enjoy the occasional coffee and/or tea or drink the hot beverages from start of day onwards, this will change the way you understand what it is you are consuming.
We were lured in by the fantastic aroma of roasting coffee, which we could start smelling from 2 blocks away. We arrived at a location, which was rustic and beautiful. There are wooden beams, industrial pipes, classic and modern furniture upholstered in recycled hessian/burlap coffee sacks and various machinery used in preparation of coffee from fruit on a tree to a hot drink.
One can peruse and purchase a variety of related products from the shop at reasonable prices, or enjoy a freshly prepared coffee and/or tea, accompanied with (if lucky) some delicious cake or pie. Of course it is often possible to catch one of the experts carrying out a guided tasting tour of either coffee, tea or even gin, or enjoy watching some fresh coffee get roasted. The smell is just heavenly. Underneath the cafe/shop is a coffee museum, which should best be experienced as part of the guided tour (however audio guides are available in various languages) .
The establishment is a family run business and the staff are all super friendly, polite, and very happy to teach or advise on the products they have on offer.
We found the guided tour, very educational and insightful. It really changed how we understand and see the drink and learnt to respect the drink.
Wholeheartedly recommend this place and look forward to having the chance to enjoy another visit.
Another very important point to be mindful of is that, they focus on offering fresh cake every day. On this basis, they try not to have leftovers at the end of the day. Therefore the selection on offer often runs out soon after lunchtime. This is much better than having old cake offered from previous days or even avoiding unnecessary wastage. If you wish to enjoy something sweet with your coffee or tea, get there early!

I dropped by to have some coffee and tea with the SO, and I have to say, their coffee selection and taste is probably one of the best you can get in Hamburg. We didn't go into the museum, so I could not say if that was really worth it or not. If you're looking for a nice place to relax with coffee, definitely give this place a go.

Lovely museum and cafe. The tour is very informative and interesting! Lots of great facts about the historic Hamburg coffee industry followed by a guided cupping/tasting session. The guided tours are spoken in German, but you can use an audio guide on your phone! A nice thing to do on rainy day in Hamburg!

The place to enjoy a perfect strong Italian espresso - right from bean to cup. The small but lovelingly equipped museum is really worth a visit, gives a good overview and contains a few real treasures. The well-stocked shop rounds off the picture.
Recommendation!

It is like hidden gem on the rainy day.
Very atmospheric place, unique and calming. Amazing smell of fresh ground coffee in this place is like cherry on top. Come for a shot or long break after tiring day or active walk. Vegan milk is also available. I believe everyone will find this place comforting and cozy. I am not sure why none of the guides even mentioned here. And neighborhood is very lovely, old dark brown brick buildings has very unique charm.

Brilliant place to visit! The museum was temporarily closed due to flood damage repairs but the manager kindly showed us around quickly. They have a beautiful 1930s roaster they use to make all the beans they sell and prices are reasonable too. And make sure you have a cafetiere of coffee. Beans ground to order and very delicious! Recommended to all coffee lovers!

One of the Hamburg's hidden treasures! Perfect fresh rotated coffee ☕ really unique and good quality pastries beautiful ambiance vey nice and quiet. Since its hidden it is not crowded and really low noise and high energy level.
If you are looking for a quiet place to catch up with a friend or get some work done while having a quality coffee this.is THE place in hafen city very close to city center.
Priced very reasonably considering the quality you get about 4,50€ for small pot of French press (2 small coffee cups)
Very recommended quality and ambiance wise just the down side is no wireless internet available while you will not get a good reception on your phone either!! Hope they could do something about this.

A must visit place for coffee lovers.
At least go to the cafe and get one of the french press options. The one I tried was Burundi and it was quite unique. The vibe of the place and the team running it are super friendly and professional.

Amazing hand-roasted coffee on a machine from the 1930s. Great staff and lovely atmosphere.
I recommend checking out the Museum which I located underneath the coffee shop itself.
