Amazing place!! I wish I could have spent more time there! You need days to fully take in the genius of the art works and sculpture here.
Fantastic! I came out richer than before! 😍🤯

We spent nearly four hours in the gallery. It's very big and ghere are lots of paintings and sculptures as well. You have to leave your coats and bag in the cloakroom or in the lockers. You can take your camera with you. Taking a photo or shooting is allowed. There is also a cafe inside in case you get tired or you want to have something to have.

This is an incredible Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden, where rare and impressive art pieces are preserved. I was amazed by the variety and quality of the exhibits displayed here. Special thanks to the staff and cloakroom attendants who were always friendly and smiling, adding positive emotions to my visit. It was an unforgettable experience that I definitely want to repeat!

This is an amazing gallery with vast amounts of masterpieces. There are so many famous paintings, and it’s almost overwhelming! I was here for 3 hours but could have easily spent the whole day if they had a nice cafe inside. "The Sistine Madonna" by Raphael and "Girl reading a letter at an open window" by Vermeer are the highlights in my opinion.

One of the best painting collections in Germany. Covering Dutch, Italian, French, Spain art works. The museum worth a few hours of visit. The ticket covered 3 museums in Zwinger: Old Masters Picture Gallery, the Dresden Porcelain Collection and the Royal Cabinet of Mathematical and Physical Instruments.

Great collection of paintings. Well worth at least two hours. You have to check in all bags, even small ones. This can be a nuisance.

An art museum with 23 rooms of old masters, including works by Raphael, Correggio, Rubens, and Vermeer.
You move not only through halls with paintings but also through different rules, countries, and eras. Very atmospheric place

A great art gallery with a lot of beautiful paintings and sculptures in the interior of Zwinger Palace.
Visiting off-season is good - no line to enter.

it is a nice gallery if you are really into an art. I personally like to look at pictures but it cannot really appreciate them. I have visited numbers, art, museums but or cannot really make difference between French, German, Italian except maybe the clothing and the facial features. however, you can get a combined ticket for the porcelain gallery and this picture gallery for only 14 euros which I think is great deal.

Large collection of paintings, covering an amazingly wide range of painters and eras. If you seek to explore all the floors of the Gallery, don't expect to spend less than 3 hours in it! (Here are some of my personal favorites)

Omg the Gemäldegalerie in Dresden will really knock your socks off. Arguably the best collection of Italian high Renaissance painting north of the Alps??? The collection of Correggio altarpieces alone is astounding, to say nothing of the deeply affecting Rafael, the eerie and compelling Parmigianino (his final work) an abundance (one could say “over abundance”) of Annibale Carracci—although his punk rock St. Sebastian is a serious wrenching shock—mesmerizing Tintoretto canvases, the sumptuous Veronese smorgasbords, Titian, Giorgione, Moroni, Guercino, del Sarto, and so many more. That’s JUST the Italians!

Rubens, Jordans, van Dyck (including an unbearable sexy portrait of an unnamed young man WOOF), two big beautiful Vermeers, a stunning Holbein portrait upstairs, El Greco, Ribera, Rembrandt, French Carivaggisten, Velazquez, Dürer, the famous Belloto landscapes and cityscapes of Dresden… all around stunning collection in a go-for-broke Baroque hanging arrangement.

Tl;dr: Don’t miss it!

This museum is definitely worth to visit if you came in Dresden. There is very good collection of works of famous artists. It is really impressive.
The most of the exhibits are on religious motives.
It is located close to the opera theater.
The ticket cost 6 euro, 4 euro for students. I thin’ it’s a very good price

The vast collection of arts is beyond imagination. It’ll take a long time to finish the visit.

Didn’t know that there is mummy; so it was an exciting visit for me.

Definitely worth the visit. It’s full of history and stories behind these galleries. I would rank this on the same level with The Louvre; of course with less tourists. It is wonderful to walk around the museum without shoulder to shoulder pedestrian traffic. I was intrigued so much by the gallery that I am using it as a report for my Humanities and Art Project. Recommend to art enthusiasts.

A wonderful masterpiece of architecture, currently under restoration. The exhibitions there are very beautiful and offer an interesting perspective on the history of the building.

If you find yourself in Dresden, interested in art, and have a few hours this should be on your list. As advertised, old masters. Compact enough not to need all day, but with depth. If you have time, get the audio guide. Unfortunately for us, the famous Vermeer was on loan when we visited, plenty of other fine paintings to feast our eyes on. Don't forget to stop at the gift shop. Well stocked with plenty of excellent text books. There's a cafe also. Thankfully, plenty of spots in the center of the gallery rooms to have a seat. 1.5 to 2.0 hours minimum, but one could stay all day. Enjoy!
