Beautiful historic Town Hall in the old town of Munich - built in 1867, it hosts the city government. Built in a Gothic style during the bourgeois era, it's situated right in the Marienplatz. Plenty of small details to see during both the day and night; the main tower stands 85m tall.

Iconic landmark of Munich. The townhall is a picturesque baroque building with some little statuettes on the tower that move periodically. It has a free access courtyard worth visiting

Beautiful 150 years old structure
Located in the heart of Marineplatz.. old area of Munich.
This structure belongs to the rulers of old Bavarian state. Statues and carvings arts are worth watching. Unfortunately it is too difficult to capture the whole building in a single shot. As it is a huge structure and there is not enough space to capture this entre structure without a Panoramic picture.

Amazing, historic building at the center of München. Sofisticated sculptures on the wall are the most interesting things. This town hall endured the WWII, and that's why you can find some parts of the building that became black. It's the result of bombing. Anyway, the building and the square in front of it were lively with people. Also there are some good restaurants and other tourist destinations nearby.

Definitely worth visiting! The student ticket to go up to the tower costs 5.5€ for students and you take the elevator. Gorgeous view, beautiful building on the inside! Totally recommend it!

Town Hall is amazing building of Munich which is in the center of city. Very central location in Munich. The architecture is neo gothic style which is beautiful and well detailed. This building is houses of administrative offices, council, mayor & many more.
The main reason people love to visit here is its clock tower with dancing dolls. Its tower is 85m tall from where you can have beautiful panoramic views of the city. You can visit top of the tower by elevator.

The neo-gothic town hall built in the early 1900's is the symbol of Munich. an 85 m height Tower with 6 euros entrance to let you see the whole city with panoramic view from above. the many external sculptures and of course the famous glockenspiel are among other things that this hall will let you witness in a journey back time.
when you enter you will see also an old restaurant with great Bavarian beer and food.

No one can miss this place once visiting Munich! Nice building, nice architecture & there are many angles for photo. Crowded people is a thing to expect. You can pay to visit the hall & climb up for better view of old town.

Marienplatz is the heart of the city, the square was created in 1158. The new town hall is one of the most beautiful buildings in Germany, built in 41 years and completed in 1908 in its main tower houses a large carillon that plays at 11:00 - 12:00 - 21:00 and in summer also at 17:00. In its courtyard there is a restaurant.

This is such a beautiful building that is located in the Marienplatz. There is so much to see on the building that it is hard to focus on one single thing. The Glockenspiel is the clocktower of this building. There are a few shops around the base of the hall including an information center.
The entrance is just under the Glockenspiel and you are able to head up the Glockenspiel for a small fee. It was quite a nice place with what looks like a large history behind it.

Amazing point of view from the terrace of the tower where you can get by an elevator. The price is 4 euro each person. If you visit Munich you have to see the beautiful panorama by the town hall tower. 👍🏻

Beautiful building and SO BIG! It's difficult to get the entire building in one photo. I love the gargoyle type statues on the building too. Looks more like a church. Beautiful!

We can walk inside to see the internal architecture for free. At the level 4, ticket of EUR3 per adult to take the lift up to the top and absolutely worth it. Amazing scenery at the top, just a bit windy and freezing.

Neus Rathaus (New Town Hall) is a large Neo-Gothic building that dominates Marienplatz in the Old Town. Constructed during the second half of the 19th-century, this is one of the most beautiful buildings in Munich.

The building stretches the length of Marienplatz and features a detailed facade richly decorated with Gothic features and statues of the Wittlesbach dynasty. It includes an impressive 85 metre tall clocktower where you find the famous Glockenspiel, a ornamental chiming clock which performs every 11am, 12pm and 5pm (during warmer months). This is so much fun to see, hear and experience and makes a rewarding addition to the already impressive building.

I really enjoyed spending time admiring the exterior architecture of Neues Rathaus. It is a impressive Neo-Gothic building that is well remembered from our recent trip to Munich.

As indicated above, it is worth timing visits to Neues Rathaus so that you can enjoy the Glockenspiel performances while you are there. Then spend the rest of your time seeing the monuments, fountains and other attractive buildings at Marienplatz.

Was lucky to be at Neue Rathaus (office of city’s mayor) just in time to see the Glockenspiel working and it was a show apart. According to the tourist information: this happens at 11 am and 12pm. It’s very nice to observe in the heart of Munich. You also can appreciate a nice gothic architecture.

Beautiful. To access the tower, you need to buy the tickets from the Information Center which is located outside the tower. Then go to the elevator which is on your left side at the entrance of the tower. Press no 4, from there the operator will validate the ticket and board you on the elevator for 9th floor.
