A once largest coal mine in the world was turned into a museum and multifunctional cultural and business space. A magnificent masterpiece of industrial design and might. Nothing I have seen before. It includes the Ruhr museum, coke pland and a coal mine. The latter two are accessible with guided tours offered in German and English. It is surely worth visiting and deserves being included in the UNESCO world heritage list.

Unesco World Heritage. Worth a visit. very beautiful and cool place to do a picknick or walk. several museums. must see when you are in the neighbourhood

Fantastic location, many things to do and see and all within a very acceptable price range. I would recommend to visit and see the environment but also the other locations in this area.

Zollverein is a must to visit place around Essen. It is very well preserved and definitely deserves the UNESCO's "brand".

I really recommend to go on tours while the guide tours explain the history and details that is not possible to get without their knowledge (maybe I had the luck of they were former workers).

I posted a lot of pictures about Zollverein, but unfortunately it is not "attached" to this review.

Zollverein deserves more than one day of visit, while there are so many things to visit.

Unesco World Heritage Site of the Ruhr Industry in Essen. Transformed into a cultural center with seasonal programing. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Zeche!

Really cool place in this city. Ive been there to take amazing pictures, wich is perfect. Theres a good access by car with a big parking just next to it.

Wow. UNESCO heritage site. Amazing to look back in the pass. Let's you appreciate what we have and the spirit of innovation and human survival.

It's a very good place to go if you are interested in history and how people were working in the past, i recommend it for you

Nice place

I have been there now thrice and the more I get to the place and it's history the more I want to go back there. Do you know that the place had an underground city when it was fully operational for the production of electricity.

Nice all to see arround, here we have historical museum and animal relationship and coal history.

Coal mining is a very nice place to visit and to see what was feeding people in Essen. 🤫😉
