Great way to remind ourselves to look into a little bit of the history. Really loved the experience its well kept. Used translator app to see a lot of descriptions of artifacts but over all still found it to be a well worth experience.

a very beautiful historical place, it will be useful for children and teenagers to go on a tour, as it is part of the history of Essen and the whole land of NRW in general. It can be seen that the place is cared for and properly serviced, very modern information is presented regarding the history of the Krupp’s family and the history of Villa Hugel estate in general. By the way, tours are free every first Friday of the month. There is parking and snacks, a good place for walks.

very interesting fairytale place with aristocratic spirit! the place is very good for weekend walks. with the Great Garden and the spirit of the whole estate one manages to abstract from the energetic modern city life

Tucked away in the city of Essen, Villa Hugel is the epitome of opulence and historical grandeur. The stunning mansion, once the residence of the esteemed Krupp family, is an architectural marvel, with a breathtaking display of intricate woodworks, most notably the awe-inspiring staircase. The first floor's expansive living room, boasting a beautiful glass ceiling, will make you feel like you've stepped into another era. As you meander through the mansion, don't miss the rich collection of paintings, each telling a fascinating story. Outside, the verdant park and garden are a perfect complement to the villa's grandeur. The visit is made even more engaging with an augmented reality application, breathing new life into this historical gem. And with commendable attention to accessibility for elderly and disabled visitors, Villa Hugel ensures an inclusive and enriching experience for all.

Villa Hügel - more like a castle with Italien or French flair. Impressive to see how the Krupp dynasties lived there from 1880 to 1945.

Fair price of 5 EUR to visit. You should plan 1 hour for the house and at least 1-2 hours for the park / gardens.

A reasonable 5 euro admission with free parking.
Lovely home of the Krupp family with historical information and displays.
Two main houses to see, the small and large.
The large is very grandiose with an amazing upstairs space and remarkable ceiling.
Nice grounds to walk round.
