BLOCK HOUSE Essen

Great food,and great location. We enjoyed the good food sitting in the warms and having a perfect view of the Christmas Market.If you like to eat a perfect steak,Blockhouse is the place to be! We also like the fresh steak tatare. It's an absolute must-have each time we visit Germany.

On a very chilly winter's day, my friend and I had a superb lunch at Block House. Reasonably priced. Steak was perfectly prepared, and the apple strudel was Incredibly delicious.

A really fancy restaurant in the heart of Essen. Very elegant, organised, with extremely professional waiters. What I liked especially, beside the food, was the open kitchen. It was a pleasure to watch the chefs at work.

Not cheap, but not expensive. Somewhere in the middle. My choise from the picture was 19.90 euros :)

I would say it is a good location for a first date, anniversary etc. Made to impress!

Why......first off I knew that the prices foe the food were high so that was no surprise for me. The food tasted amazing. I love the steaks english. And it was on point english. The meat had a high quality and the side dishes with the starters tasted amazing.

This place is probably the best in Essen for steaks. Great food and atmosphere. I’ve attended here many times and it never disappoints.

Food was excellent and so was the service. You do need to be patient with the service because they place is busy but our waitress Andrea was fantastic. Would recommend a visit if your are looking for good steak in Essen.

There was very busy on a Friday night, but the waiters found us a table for two. The atmosphere is as pleasant as a steakhouse, there is a cooking show. The orders are not delayed, we received the necessary attention from the service. For dinner we had a t-bon steak portion for two - well cooked.

Location - perfect. In the heart of old city near Christmas market. Atmosphere - as should be for a steak house. Sitting places a little narrow for a tall people (I'm 1,97m and getting in/out was a challenge). Food - delicious. Steak was perfectly medium rare - with a bit of salt and pepper sauce - was just right. Beer - maybe I'm used to Latvian but German beers are not delicious - they are plain but along with steak was good. Overall 8 out of 10 (waiter was a little too intrusive).

Great food, had lunch there, chosenthe daily lunch: meat was excellent as was the rest. Excellent quality. Great service. A revelation !

Located at a central area in Essen. The staff is very friendly. The price for what you get is great. They have also good deals for steak cravers.
Would be there once more.

Nice staff, English menu, welcome to tourists. And of coz, nice food as well. Better try there homemade bread and creamy spinach. 💕

A nice place to eat. Worth booking as usually busy but well worth waiting if full. The steak medallions were brilliant. So good we went back a second evening.

Block house in Germany is a really good steak franchise.

The food is great. The menu choice a little limited on the starter front, but the steak dishes are yummy!

Unfortunately we visited here whilst the neighbouring store was having work undertaken and it was loud, but clearly not the fault of block house!

The food and the server, Sebastian, were fantastic excellent prepared meals served by an absolutely great very attentive waiter top notch.. would highly recommend it
