IntercityHotel Essen

That was absolutely one of the best hotel I've ever been! My room was fantastic, clean, with huge windows and the toilet, was absolutely high class. The breakfast was just AMAZING.

In walking distance to main station. Clean, inexpensive, modern, very very friendly service. Backside rooms towards the inner yard are completely undisturbed over night, rooms facing the street have some rather minor traffic noise. I will com back for sure when I am in Essen.

We stayed here several times now, always during the Spiel Messe. The location is great, near the main train station and thus also the underground line to the Messe. And one of the advantages of Intercity hotels is that you get a card which allows you to use the local public transport for free during your stay. The room was very quiet but also very small and that was the business room, I wonder what the normal rooms look like. Breakfast always quite good, on our last stay some of the things in the buffet weren't replenished after 9:00 anymore, though. In former years they were friendly enough to open some of their conference rooms for guests who came there for the Spiel Messe so that they could try out their new games in the evening. This always was a very, very good service. This year (2021) they did not open these rooms, but since far fewer people visited the Spiel and also considering the much higher effort to clean the rooms during the pandemic, all this is understandable. However, hope is that in the following years more people are coming for the Spiel again and the super friendly staff at the Intercity hotel continue the service with opening the conference rooms again.

Very nice, Cozy and clean room, same for the bathroom. The hotel is quiet despite the location near the railway. Staff was nice and they offer a card for free access with some train/busses /metro in the area.

Really centric and close to Hauptbahnhof, the main station. It is also clean and confortable. It is simple yet modern. The bathrooms look very good, modern and clean. The price also seems fine compared with other hotels in the same area for the same dates.

The InterCity is a good hotel. The rooms are well appointed and the bathrooms are clean and have a very nice finish. The free WiFi is great and quick and the beds were very comfortable also. If you're staying in downtown Essen for business. Give it a look.

Excellent location for catching trains from Essen Hbf. FreeCityTicket covers a wide area from Düsseldorf to Dortmund and is excellent for getting round the area!
Good views of the trains from the windows but soundproofing means you don't hear them.

Decent hotel. Staff were very pleasant. Stayed during the essen spiel and they provided as much gaming space as possible. It had the advantage of being nice and near to the center of Essen that its easy to go to a nice restaurant or bar

Nice and clean hotel, they offer also free train ticket to move around the city! I have been 3 times during the messe spiel (October) i will definitely recommend!

Great central Essen hotel. Very clean and modern bedrooms. Decent continental breakfast and very friendly reception staff. Would recommend.

The Hotel was as expected. Clean and ok. The room was a bit small. The breakfast was good, but the stuff was a bit unfriendly.

Clean and fairly new, despite the close proximity to the train station pretty quiet. Includes a ticket for the regional transportation by busses and local trains.
