Premier Inn Essen City Centre hotel

Brilliant location, literally opposite Essen railway station, 5 mins walk from here and your in the main strett, plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes to sit and people watch, grab a coffee and a pastry, or a beer. Rooms were typical premier in, large and conformable, lovely shower, comfy bed anf pillows. Down sides were restaurant closed by 9pm had to go and ask if the bar was open as I stood for 10minutes and there was nobody serving, had to go to reception for them to find someone, also room keys stopped working late one night, took ages to find any night staff, had to knock on the kitchen door to find someone to help.. In fairness, they were helpful once we found them, this didn't detract from the stay, and if ever in Essen again, would definately stay again :)

Although it is just on the outside of the railway station, this modern hotel is so well isolated that sometimes you forget that you are in the very downtown.
Modern, clean and well equipped facilities.
Nice bed. A small armchair where you can take a seat and read.
Comfortable and modern bathroom with rain-type + telephone type shower.
Convenient and big lounge where you can work or have a drink from its bar. Very nice buffet breakfast.
The customers are mostly young, middle-aged people, from different nationalities, polite and well behaved.
But the best it is the staff. Apart German and English, they speak Spanish and I think I heard some of them speaking Italian and French. They made me feel welcoming and made the stay nicer.I felt they did their best to have everything ready for the customers.

Great location right next to the central station. Very clean hotel, very modern. The breakfast is really good as well it’s great value for money. Only pity is that you cannot open the windows properly and that made the rooms feel stuffy.

Location is right at the Essen main station. Easy access to the one side of the city. Rooms are great. Some rooms have a bathtub, and some have only showers. They have family rooms and double for singles and for a family of 4 with small kids. Bar is great, and the breakfast is amazing. Great budget hotel with high-quality service. The 1st cup, coffee shop, belongs to the hotel absolutely amazing service staff, Mr Saka, full of passions and the coffee is great 👍 👌 😀. Great place to stay 😀

Great hotel, room was clean and tidy , same was bathroom. Hotel service was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast- what I can say just wow 👌 Thank you so much and we will come back again.

If I am staying in a chain hotel Premier is my recommendation. This one is a 2 min walk from the train station and a 2 min walk for the Christmas market. We made reservations online about 30 mins before walking in. The bar and lounge area looked as of two different businesses groups had made reservations for their meetings. So the usual staff was heavily tasked. Our room was not set up for 4. No problem. The extra bed is under the queen and setting it up is simple. I informed the desk we needed another comforter and in no time the desk manager was at our door with it.

Had a great experience. Clean rooms with all the amenities. Friendly and helpful stsff. Great breakfast. Highly recommend it , particularly for the location and convenience. Will stay again.

Excellent hotel. The staff is very friendly and even let me check in very early after a long trip on the train! The hotel is very well-located, having the train station and a handful of restaurants nearby! The room was very clean and cozy, and the breakfast (13€ extra) is well worth the money: the food was hot and tasty, and the baked goods tasted fresh and full! When I return to Essen, I will absolutely stay here!

Had a really nice time. Staff is pretty friendly. Rooms are really spacious and clean.
Breakfast was good and everything was freshly made. I would recommend it for sure.

Really friendly staff. And take covid very seriously. We didn't had a negative Corona test at hand because we didn't know it's required. Fortunately we could take the test at the hotel it self for a fee. The room was really nice, comfortable bed, decent internet speed (10 euro extra for super speed). Only thing missing in the room is a fridge. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. We had a really good sleep. Next day we saw cleaning staff wiping everything in the lobby and elevators. Very good hygiene especially in covid time. We booked the breakfast as well. That was mediocre. Maybe because we were bit late or not enough people had booked the breakfast. But we had an amazing stay. Will definitely go here again when we are visiting Essen or nearby cities again.

This hotel convinces with charm and tasteful furnishings. The team in Essen, including the leadership of Mr. Gottschlich, is human, helpful, attentive and takes care of its guests as if they were family. The visit is to our complete satisfaction. The location is also recommended, whether you are going on a shopping center tour or a short-term work trip. The rooms are super clean and state of the art. Very clean, quiet, nice decor, fantastic breakfast with both traditional English food and some German, i.e. pretzels, black bread etc. The staff super polite and helpful (especially Manuela in the restaurant) and all speak good English.

I really liked the fact that you can open the window or put the A/C on - most Premier Inns in the UK have only one option. Our family room only had a walk in shower (no bath) but it was fitted with a fixed shower head. They have 14 parking spaces at the back (2 for electric cars) and the cost is 12 euro per night. It’s available on a first come, first served basis. The car park at the front is 24€ and it’s bigger.

When we visited on 2nd April 2022 we had to show either proof of vaccination (less than 9 months old), negative Covid tests or proof of having had Covid before.

Reasonably priced, 24/7 check-in, air conditioning in all rooms, good clean rooms, big bathroom, friendly staff. Choice between free WiFi (fine!), and extra fast WiFi. Wall outlet and USB ports available for charging.

Clean room, excellent room service, spacious room and very dedicated hotel staffs ! Much recommended for travellers because it is within walking distance to Essen Hbf .

Nice clean rooms, friendly staff and great location for public transportation. Super Awesome to stay here and use the train to Veltins Stadium.
