Hotel Essener Hof, Sure Hotel Collection By Best Western

Wandered into this beautiful jewel-box of a bar on the way back to my hotel. Had passed the Essener Hotel many times, but the unassuming facade didn't speak to me.

For whatever reason, I decided to pop in after a stroll through the Christmas Markets (just a few steps away). What a nice surprise: a beautiful, clean and Art-Deco stylish hotel. It was an unexpected oasis.

Even more surprising was the bar with its clean architecture, great christmas sound track and all the classic cocktails.

Finally, the Bartender - Dennis - was a wonderful host. It never ceases to amaze me how, after traveling the world for years, the best experiences are those surprises you didn't plan.

Very clean hotel with friendly staff. perfect location, just 2 mins walk from the train station and the city center/Christmas market. There was enough space in our room, stayed there 4 people (with 2 kids). They are also pet friendly, prepped a very nice spot in the room for our dog as well. Very low price compared to it's standards.

We didn’t go for breakfast which could be great but it was 19€ per person. Overall happy to come back to this hotel.

Great service during a short work related stay. The hotel is located about two minutes away from the central train station, making it very accessible. The room was clean, with a good working desk and convenient commodities.
The reception were kind, and breakfast had a lot of food options.

We had a perfect stay during the Internationale Spieletage 2022. The staff were extremely friendly and supportive, showed us our rooms, and took care of the luggage. Rooms spacious and clean, the hotel was overall very clean and in perfect shape. Very comfortable beds and a quiet night in our appartment facing the courtyard, haven't slept so well for some time. Good drinks and snacks in the bar during the evening. Breakfast was perfect, they made the most of the limited space, with many different options, and great fresh Brötchen. Good fitness room offering all the standards. Very child-friendly, despite a business focus. Great location 3 min from the main station. Streets have the usual mixed crowd for such a location, but did not feel unsafe at any time. This will be our preferred stay for the Essen area in the future.

Was there for meetings with the company. Rooms nicely stocked and prepared with water and apple juice.

Lunch was excellent I'm the dining area with plenty of choices for all aspects of the meal including dessert.

Hotel located very close to the city center of Essen. There is parking garage three minutes away, where you can park your car with a discount whenever you stay in the hotel (We paid €14 for over 24 hours). Entering the room with some gummibears on the pillow was very nice. The room was clean and quite big. Friendly staff and price for one night was very well priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very well placed, just near the train station. The rooms are clean and nice. The service and the food are great too. Stayed there for an international conference, everything was well organised.

The hotel is good. Comfortable and clean room (we had air conditioning) and it's very close to the main station. The breakfast buffet is large and diverse enough. Valerie was an amazing host at the reception who made us feel very welcome. The hotel could use a modern make-over though...

Recently stayed at hotel Essener Hof and have to say it is one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms were comfortable and spacious with bed linen and towels changed every day. The rooms were also cleaned every day. The staff were very courteous and friendly and keen to help out in any way. The location of the hotel is perfect with the city's transport hub just 2 minutes walk away from which you can get the train, underground, bus and tram. A taxi rank is also located here. A shopping thoroughfare is just 1 minutes walk away with a huge selection of designer and high street shops. This area also has an abundance of Cafes and some restaurants.
In order to enhance their clients stat at the hotel I would suggest that tea/coffee making facilities be provided in the rooms and that they consider reducing the price of breakfast from €15 to €10. I would also suggest that the bar and restaurant be open 7 days per week.
Overall wee greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it and we would definitely stay here if we return to Essen.

Good looking hotel. Very clean and comfortable but I got a very small room. Good size bathroom. Breakfast offers a larger variety than normal breakfast buffet including champagne.

Excellent service and a beautiful location right in the Centre. Station within walking distance. Breakfast very good. Parking no problem. friendly staff. Close to Oberhausen. Recommended. We will definitely go back.
