Beautiful hike, great new facilities and views of the lake and volcano. We liked it more than the main area of the park, highly recommended!

Toller Ausflug, der bei Sonne sicher noch schöner ist. Man kann den Weg super ohne große Anstrengung laufen und landet dann auf einem Steg am Vulkansee. Die Natur ist sehr schön und man kann den Vulkan sehen (wenn es nicht regnet oder neblig ist).

Linda y fácil caminata. El Aceeso no es pavimentado. Se ven a animales aves y el lago. Recomendado

I’d recommend a car with high clearance to get here. The road leading here wasn’t paved and very rocky. You’ll have to park on the side of the road when you arrive.
The walking path is paved the whole way. But the lookout decks and tower were all closed for maintenance.

Not accessible by car. It is a 2 km hike to the lake. The area is part of the Arenal national park, you can use the ticket if you've already bought one, or buy one at the start of the trail. I didn't enter because I didn't have the national park ticket and felt like only this1 trail was not worth the $ 15 entrance fee.
