Very wet and prepare to crawl and climb through tight spaces! It was a lot of fun and I do recommend getting out of you comfort zone and explore.

Excellent place to explore with options for different levels of experience. You will get wet and you will be on all fours which adds to the excitement. Go for it - Tour guide Elvis is excellent ask for him 8)

An awesome cave adventure, there’s two types, if you’re more than 170 lbs I would suggest the easy tour. There are some tight spots and you will get dirty and wet but if you want to see things that you can’t see in the States, this is a great cave tour.

We got a recommendation to visit the cave and we didn’t really know what to expect and even if we did the a the actual experience was so much better
Apparently the cave is 7km long and the walk covers only 1.5km, the cave is absolutely stunning - look at the pictures
You’ll be given an helmet, wellies and an helmet torch
The guide is very knowledgeable and it was also quite educational to learn more about the animals and the cave
Speaking of animals, there are thousands and thousands of bats, we even seen a snake (not a poisonous one) and all kind of crickets
We had kids from 10Y old to 22Y, they all loved it, especially when you get a chance to crawl through tight spaces
When you come out there are showers and also a pool you can use
We really enjoyed the visit, it was very different compared to everything we have done
One small point, they told us that the price on the website is only for locals and the real price is slightly more expensive - bare that in mind

The cave tour was a lot of fun and definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
The three of us were in a private tour (without having booked it) - we didn't visit during high season though.
The guard was super nice and the tour a lot of fun. Be aware, that this is rather a spelunking than a walking tour. I recommend wearing long pants, tying your hair together and not wearing anything that cannot get muddy or wet (amongst other things you walk through a small waterfall). Strong recommendation to visit the caves!

The cave tour was AMAZING and Wilmer was a fun and super knowledgeable guide. Be prepared for a little adventure, like squatting through short tunnels, climbing up a small rock wall, and crawling in knee deep water (that route was optional). Our teenagers loved it and so did we. It’s an easy one hour drive from the Arenal Volcano and is definitely a hidden gem. They are super responsive on What’s App and we were able to book through text. Five stars all around!! 🤩

Our guide was great, pointing out thendifferent cave dwellers and fossils in a few places, explaining the calcium formations etc. 2h well spent. Wet, dirty and tired, but happy with the experience. Safe psrking and clothes changing, helmet and light provided.

Was a very cool experience, friendly staff and not at all touristic. Lots of locals go here. Would recommend to people who appreciate less touristic approaches to travelling. The ride up there has also some nice views.

Awesome experience. We showed up early without a reservation/etc and saved a lot of money bypassing the travel sites. Our family did a private tour with photos. There are some tight spots if you’re adventurous but completely avoidable if you want. Tons of bats on the ceiling. The cave spiders are pretty easily avoidable if they freak you out. Your tour guide isn’t going to throw them on you or anything even if they’re totally harmless. Great time - if you’re on the fence just do it. We’re from the states and there are not many (if any) places to get a similar experience.

We stopped at these Caves as we wanted something a bit more different and this location delivered. It was a fantastic place and definitely thrilling. You will get soaked, you will have to move through natural paths, but it's all worth it. Wilmer, our guide, was super knowledgeable and not only made us feel safe but really clear knew his stuff. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip so far.

Be sure to bring a change of clothes and a towel. And take rubber boots with a helmet from them. The guides did not insist, they probably kept an intrigue, but they are necessary)) You will be wet and dirty, but delighted) When you go down into the caves, choose the most difficult route from those offered to you and unreal emotions are guaranteed to you. Super exciting and fun. The price is 30$per person in a group, an individual tour for two is 90. Cool guides. Thank you

My husband and I did the venado caves tour on our honeymoon and it was AWESOME. We seriously had such a great time. Wilmer was our guide. He had extensive knowledge of the area and we were excited to learn about the history of the caves. This was definitely one of our top favorite activities in Costa Rica and we would definitely do it again if we return in the future! We loved the caves!

We had a wonderful experience! Alonso was energetic, funny and knowledgeable guide.
The caves are extraordinary. The tour lasts for 1.5 hours and you can choose which path to take. Bring extra clothes and a towel. The flashlight and the boots are provided.

This is one of my best adventures ever. The caves are wonderful. A hidden gem of the Arenal/La Fortuna area. Surprising, challenging and showing the beauty and mystery of the underground world. The tour lasts about 2 hours. You will see dozens of bats, spiders, various rock formations. Some passages require immersion in the water of the stream that flows through the entire cave. It requires some physical fitness and some courage. It is really worth it!

Wasn't sure what to expect. They never responded on Whatsapp when I tried to make a reservation and there isn't much info on the site about making one either. Came from La Fortuna and Waze sent us down an extremely bumpy dirt road big enough for about half a car. Eventually lost service and our navigation cut off. We almost gave up, but really the only way was to keep going forward. Eventually we found it. Showed up and we were the only ones there aside from the employees and I thought we were SOL. We had just missed the last guided tour at 1PM. The gal at the front told us we could do a private tour for $5USD more per person. Our guide (Elvis) helped us get set up. He seemed like he didn't want to be there at first, but quickly opened up. He did a great job from that point on and this tour ended up being one of, if not the biggest highlights of our Costa Rica trip. We got through the tour pretty fast with it only being 2 of us (3 with the guide). Elvis offered to take plenty of photos for us. They have showers and places to store your belongings. I believe they also have food options and a pool which we elected not to do. Definitely would recommend doing the cave tour though. So awesome.

I have traveled many countries and it was one of the most incredible experiences in my life. A lot of bats, spiders, and crickets and various cave formations. Some guides are more fluent in English and are more knowledgeable while some aren't, so your experience may vary depending on your guide.
Tip: Not recommended for those who have physical challenges or those who are much taller or bigger than average as you will be crawling/sliding through narrow passages where you can literally get stuck. Quick-drying long sleeves, long pants, and water shoes are highly recommended. Optional gloves and knee pads.

Great tour, energetic and nice guide, dhowing different kinds of stones and insects and telling about their lifestyle. This adventure you won't forget - the walk is really mysterious: crawling under and over stones, meeting stalactites and stalagmites and even crossing an underground waterfall :)
We were doing the tour with a 3-year-old, and all of us absolutely loved it! 😍
After the walk you can have a tasty snack :)

Our guide, Minor, was super knowledgeable, personable and genuinely cared about conservationism. Our family of 3 (including a 12-year old) felt safe and engaged during the entire exploration. I absolutely recommend this for persons of all ages and sizes!

Trip was amazing our guide took pictures the whole time and we bought them from him. Would recommend to any adventurous person.

Outdoor, off the beaten path, adventure enthusiasts, this is the activity you've been looking for! A truly great, unique experience, trekking through a cave, getting wet and muddy, seeing bats and cave spiders, but feeling safe. Accessible for anybody who is comfortable walking and crawling in tighter spaces. Can't recommend enough!
