Casona Rústica & Bungalows - Tangara

We absolutely loved our stay here and didn't want to leave! Eric and all the other staff were so friendly and helpful and were able to quickly sort any issues we had.
We had one of the bungalows which was beautiful, so spacious and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and very filling.
The hotel itself is about a 15 walk to town, which was very easy with pavements and streetlights the whole way. We would highly recommend staying here and would return in a heartbeat!

Really lovely and caring staff! Lovely garden with many birds. We even saw a tucan flying over. Small but clean pool and we could lend towels from the reception to use at the pool. Room was clean with a good AC. The shower had good pressure and was warm! Great three breakfast options. Best thing was the helping out when we last minute needed a shuttle and they arranged one for us! Thank you!

We found this lovely accommodation on TripAdvisor and we're so happy we choose it. Eric was wonderful, the rooms were clean, the location was fantastic (four minutes outside of busy LaFortuna), the breakfast was delicious and filing, the view of the Arenal Volcano was breathtaking, and it was very safe and quiet. It was home away from home! It was a bit difficult to find so don't give up if it's not obvious. Head for the police station. Look for a road on the right, just after a car wash (if I remember correctly) and before the station. We can't recommend it enough!

Amazing location, quiet, among lovely garden, yet close to the town (20mins walk). Beautiful flowers, nature, birds and other animals.

Extremely clean rooms, reception and dining area.
Breakfast - 2 choices : traditional Costa Rican ( eggs, toast, coliander & beans rice, plantain ) or pancakes with fruits. Always freshly squized juice and fruits for dessert, coffee, tea, hot chocolate.we tried few restaurants in town but this breakfast was extraordinary !
Staff couldn't do more, always smiling, happy help, everyday of our stay they were ensuring we have everything we need.
I really recommend this hidden place of heaven.

This is hands down the best lodging experience I have ever had. The hosts are the most patient, kind, and hospitable people. Everything, from how clean the property is, to the amazing made-with-love breakfast in the mornings, to the guest service makes you feel welcomed and at home. We are so very happy we chose to stay here. I would recommend to anyone visiting the Fortuna area.

We had such a charming experience here. The view of the volcano outside our cabin was beautiful. Loved that we had our own hammock outside of the cabin we stayed! Staff was super friendly and breakfast was delicious. Definitely our go to spot when traveling to la fortuna

What an awesome place! Hotel Tangara is run by awesome staff. Everybody is so kind and take their time to explain everything! Any questions we had were always answered. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. They really go above and beyond to make their guests comfortable. The girl at the front desk is very kind and helped us so much. The owner is amazing too as the language barrier was hard but she took her time to try to help us understand everything. The beauty of the property is awesome and the breakfast is delicious. I wouldn't stay anywhere else if in the La Fortuna area. You won't be disappointed!

Erick and his family were gracious and delightful hosts. They welcome you to their beautiful property with such kindness and love. We rented a bungalow and it was equipped with many amenities including air conditioning, a mini fridge and a tv. The property has a beautiful view of Arenal and is lush with beautiful native plants, flowers and many birds! (Erick even pointed out a toucan for us!) There is even a small swimming pool for the guests to use. If we were staying in La Fortuna longer, we would definitely be staying here. They also offer breakfast in the morning — I ordered the traditional Costa Rican breakfast (pinto gallo, fried eggs, fried plantains and toast) and my boyfriend ordered more of a continental style breakfast (eggs, fruit and toast). Everything was so delicious and made to order. We feel so blessed to have found this little piece of paradise. Thank you for the stay, Erick and family, pura vida!

The views are spectacular, the service beyond good and breakfast tasty.
We arrived late at night and were warmly received by reception. Greeted with the pura vida vibe. Room was very nice. Above all is outside town so woke up by the birds and nature

Arrived at 10 pm with no reservation. Loved the hospitality and friendliness of the owner. We (two adult mom friends backpacking in Costa) were so comfortable and the room was perfect.

Nice place to stay. The staff are lovely and super helpful, always trying to give you a great experience. In the mornings, if the weather is good, you can have great views of the arenal volcano. The brekkie is great!

very nice cabin, beautifully decorated. bed was comfortable, breakfast came in two options (traditional - gallo pinto or exotic - lots of fruits, yogurt and granola + drinks juice, tea, coffee), very tasty and big portions.
the owner were very friendly and helpful with what to visit around the area and where to eat.
location is close to city center and there's cheap Uber.
there's a nice pool and a lot of nature around.

one thing - when it rained it poured a little through the ceiling in the middle of the room (I am sure they will check this out and solve it) and during the night it gets a bit loud because of all the insects, birds and animals (nothing some earbuds can't solve). also, the water pressure was a bit low.

overall I loved it, so I recommend it to stay there if you are in La Fortuna.

Heriberto and Shirley are the kindest hosts. So friendly and accommodating. The grounds are lovely, the rooms clean and spacious, and the breakfast is delicious. Definitely recommend!

Hôtel a bit outside the city which is nice since more quiet. Very friendly staff. The hotel was not full so they offered us a free upgrade of our room which was super nice !

It's better than the photos suggest. Lovely, peaceful atmosphere. Great breakfast. Saw more wildlife here than in any of the national parks! (toucan, hummingbirds)
