My niece and I are visiting Costa Rica from the US. We were trying to catch a bus in San Jose to go to Cahuita when we were rushed into an ‘unofficial’ taxi whose driver (and friends) said we missed the bus and he would drive us to catch it. 15 mins into the ride his story had changed so many times we knew it was a scam. I made the driver pull over, we argued for a bit, and then got out of the car when it was clear he was trying to rip us off. We happened to be in front of this auto parts store. We walked in as the crooked taxi driver drove away and asked the guys for help. Lalo and his colleagues spent time helping us via Google translate to understand our predicament and help us get back to the bus terminal. Lalo called his friend Jesus who came and drove us (for a reasonable price) back to the bus station and walked us the last 100 yards to ensure were were safe. If these guys treat your customers with the kindness and helpfulness they treated us, they all deserve a raise. Thank you guys!! Jill and Grace
