Excellent when you consider the cost. It’s basic, but it’s clean, safe, and comfortable. Patrick stayed up late to receive us when we arrived after check in time because of a late flight. He also kindly scheduled a pickup at the airport for a very reasonable price ($30 total for 2 people). The driver met us at the airport holding a sign with our name. The same driver even came back at 5:30am and took us to the bus station for $5. They really made everything very seamless. The city can be a little noisy at times, so if you’re a light sleeper earplugs work. This is obviously not the hotels fault. We only stayed the one night and were gone early the next morning. But I would definitely book again and recommend Casa León. Great budget friendly pick.

It's is by far nothing fancy, but if you're here to visit the city, it is perfect. Patrick is super helpful and always around. Its clean, not too noisy, close to everything worthwhile. I love how close all the museums are.

This is a good place for a stay in San José. The guesthouse is in the centre of the city, you can walk to museum in just a couple of minutes. There are also good restaurants in the area. Patrick is a very nice host, he is always in for a chat and can tell you everything about the city!

An excellent place to stay! The room was clean and comfortable, the Wi-Fi signal was strong. Very central location - a short walk to the National Museum and several restaurants close by. Patrick is a great guy, very friendly, very helpful. I would happily stay here again.

The best and friendliest host Patrick (speaking English, German and Spanish) willing to help and advise with everything. Accommodation in the centre with no noise at night. Great value for money. I can recommend to everyone.

If you're looking for a cheap Hostel in San José you should come here. It's close to the city, the rooms are clean, as are the baths. Patrick, the owner, is a Swiss dude who is glad to help you out with almost anything. He can tell you where buses leave, how to get to different places in Costa Rica, where to go best at whatever time of the year, recommend bars or restaurants,...
There's a train driving past the hostel but I always slept through it and I've stayed there for 6 nights in total.

Leo and his wife were very hospitable. Located within walking distance of many sites in San Jose and buses to other areas.

Don't be put off by the initial impression outside of the property. Enter and enjoy this centrally located guesthouse in San Jose. When we return to the city, we will stay with Leon.

Very helpful owners and affordable rooms with breakfast. Yes, there is a tram passing by, but only during the day when most people are out of their rooms and it’s not as loud as other users pointed out.

Notre chambre était propre, spacieuse avec une salle de bain privée.
Léon nous a attendu alors que nous étions bloqués dans des bouchons pour faire notre check in.
