This history in this building is both uplifting and heartbreaking. I feel like a better person knowing it and visiting this vestido building had a great trip even better.

We stumbled upon this incredible find while walking in the French District.

Extraordinary art on the top floor. The Lilith & Adam painting is a must-see.

Beautiful outside garden setting to sip a delicious Malbec and breathe. They even project old silent films onto a wall in the evenings. Fun architecture of it being an old colonial home.

If you like to read about the exhibits, you should plan to spend more than 2 hours!

A nice plaza to visit, lots of shops and restaurants, there are a fair amount of parking garages, but a lot of them close early, I would recommend Uber.

The Plaza exists because the Bank of Costa Rica decided not to build a structure that would block the beautiful Opera House. This is a lovely open public space.

If you are in another country, and you don't go to at least one of their museums....shame on you...lol For most, it's going to be a once in a life time kind of thing. The Plaza de la Cultura is a beautiful place and very informative. It is in Spanish and English. They even provide wheelchairs for those in need (like my great uncle) I may have mixed some of my photos up and added some of the Jade museum photos as well (they are right next to each other) If you look online you can find the hours and how much it is per person. We did an unguided tour (I went to a few places and can't remember which ones offered guided tours, but we didn't use one at any place we went to.) Also we stayed at the Holiday Inn right up the road and walked to the museum. (Thank goodness for google maps working without wifi)

Centrally located in downtown San Jose, between 2nd Avenue and Central avenue at 5th street, next to Museo De Oro and the Theatro National. Popular gathering place for locals and tourists. Lots of families with kids enjoying the day. Very busy on weekends One of the best places for people watching.

This place is surronding by coffee shops, restaurants, and the some fountains in the surface makes kids lots of fun. The Natinal theatre and the Gold Museum (at lower level ) all together are in this place, must visit .

A great location to combine a visit to the Precolumbian Gold Museum and afterwards a coffee with cake at the Cafeteria of the National Theater (Costa Ricas top arquitectural treasure).

Rich history of the Costa Rican culture, heritage, indigenous peoples, and colonization. No pictures allowed after the Vault doors.

It was an amazing experience! Bunch of kids dancing with a couple speakers and a crowd of people surrounding them. It was a ton of fun, it seems like they gather there every Saturday night. Anyone could have joined. I believe it's awesome that these kids gather to dance instead of running around the streets doing mischief. So if you happen to be out and about on a Saturday night in the streets of San Jose, Costa Rica before nine o'clock, I highly recommend you stop by this plaza and see a bunch of kids busting out their greatest moves and a crowd of people with tremendous smiles on their faces. I'm surely coming back and will advise my friends and family to do the same.

Well, how can you not love this place? Interesting small plaza... a perfect place for people watching. It is surrounded by a plethora of shops and food places (American and Tico). The Christmas decorations were also stunning this year.

One of the best museums I've ever visited in Costa Rica. Interesting interior design. It has 3 subterranean levels. 1st level consists in Costa Rican banks history and their national coin. 2nd level it's about Pre-colombinan history and their artefacts. 3rd level is being restored and it will be open to the audience this January 2019... it will be section of the Museum of Gold.
