If you want local - this is the place. The interior is shabby and old, but the food is great! Only locals eat here cause the food is good, portions big and prices fair.

Restaurante Coroncoro is a great spot for local food and fresh fish. I had the pescado frito which came with an ample amount of rice, fried plantain, and salad. This is a no frills restaurant with a great atmosphere, and the food is cheaper than most restaurants. The service was a little slow but it’s a busy place!

Loved this place especially compared to its rivaling Colombian restaurants closeby. Located on a lively street and filled with local people in the restaurant. I enjoyed the Sancocho de Pescado. The portion was huge and the fish was rich. Also came with a free sugar drink which was good. Food came by quickly and the server was attentive.

Don’t hesitate - the fried fish is astounding, so fresh, so crispy. We came here 2 out of 3 nights in Cartagena. Simply delicious and great service too. Easily 5 stars

Good service. Food delicious. Very local spot to experience the authentic culture. Restaurant was hot, though. Only fans running when we went, no AC. But doors wide open to help w/air circulation. Cash only. They don't accept credit card.

I tried to order the stewed fish, but what they understood and brought was delicious also. Especially the beet salad. Son's chicken con pollo was stripped chicken in rice seasoned w/onions, scallions, peppers, and more. It was quite tasty. Good helpings on both as you can see from the photos, and they brought a cool refreshing drink 1/2 way through our meal. Tasted a bit like sweet tea sweetened with honey.

Unassuming local restaurant with emphasis on fish. Great value, great taste. Liked it so much ate there a second time during our stay in Cartagena. Would go again.

Excellent local and cheap restaurant, plain and simple. I'm a solo traveller and arrived just before the lunch rush, and the service was fast and courteous, and i got by with my basic spanish. The grilled fish was delicious! Will be eating here again.

Local place with hearty food at reasonable prices. I came with my toddler and the waitress made sure she was comfortable and accommodating of requests. Service was also quick and friendly. Highly recommend.

We came here at the recommendation of a friends hostel. The restaurant is always busy, but the lovely ladies will always find you somewhere to sit. Food is very good and a really good price. We have been for lunch three times now and will be back tomorrow! My partner has had the common food with carne, fish and pollo. Each time the dish comes with a large bowl of soup first, then a plate of whatever has been ordered with rice, beans, salad and plantains. He pays 11,000 cop which is £2.20. I'm vegetarian so get rice, beans, salad, eggs and plantains. I pay 10,000 cop which is £2.00. You get free drink unless you want a beer or pop and then you pay. The food is good and the experience fantastic. Will always be my go to place for lunch in Cartagena.

I feel like some who have left low reviews for this place had expectations that were way too high. It's an efficient, no-frills eatery for locals; families and workers alike. We loved this place so much we came back twice! The staff are really friendly and very receptive if you make an effort in Spanish. You can't beat the food for value and you'll definitely leave stuffed! Would highly recommend the cazuela de mariscos and the típico montañero (bandeja paisa). 👌🐷

My God!!! Was the food delicious here? Beyond delicious and at a very economic price. Be ready to be friendly and think of Jesus and bond with your fellow comrade because the food is so good here that you are given the option to share table with an individual that has not finished eating yet. I'm sure some individuals might have complained about the service, but come-on guys, you gotta understand the work that it takes. You can always help yourself with another beer, the owner is right there on the lookout. Exquisite food and friendly servers. The location has several paintings and portrait that suit the place and make it even more comfy. Love it!!

By far the best food in Getsemani. And for the price, it really can't be beat! When you're there, ask for Migdalina (she is the best) and order the Fried Beef (it's amazing)!

Food is so delicious and portion is big. Service takes a while. It's not a fancy place, so don't expect ambiance. Price is so affordable.

An excelent local restaurant where you can enjoy delicious authentic food from the region. The prices are very low. Waitresses are very friendly. Something to have in mind, there is no air conditioning but they do have fans and the doors are open for air to circulate. worth a visit. RECOMMENDED

Our favourite local restaurant in Cartagena with great food.

This local restaurant in Getsemani is a secret gem - not so secret now that I'm posting about it. They have a great selection of local dishes at very competitive prices. I ate a meal deal consisting of fish soup, fried fish with rice and veggies, and juice for 10,000pesos (~$3). Tasty, cheap food in a restaurant with good atmosphere and helpful staff. I'll highly recommend. Ps-the staff doesn't speak much English but that's an opportunity to practice your Spanish.

Absolutely loved dinning here when I visited Colombia. They serve authentic delicious meals and a steal. Staff do not speak English, but they are friendly and patient.

Most delicious Columbian food I tried in cartagena. Only complaint is that one meal arrived 15 mins after the other.
