Sometimes I love a nice small airport. This is just that. 8 national gates on one side and 7 international gates on the other. We arrived 2 hours early with no luggage to check and made it through security to our international gate in 7 minutes. We did not have to remove liquids or shoes. I would have preferred to arrive a little later but our hotel checkout got us here 2 hours before our flight. I will say, if you are checking luggage, definitely arrive 2 hours early. The luggage lines were loooong. All the gates are in a row with one large seating area. Not much inside. 3 shops, 1 cafe and 1 tiny snack market.
I think they called everyone on the flight in sections to get a physical boarding pass (we only had electronic) and some appeared to have been sent to a separate area for inspection. Our gate agents did anounce in both Spanish and English (as opposed to our national flight from MDE). Lines to buy food/souvenirs inside were long. And at least double what you'd pay outside the airport as is always the case.

Small Airport, very secure, this is not an international Airport, so don't expect to have many stores, just the essentials. Cartagena is beautiful, and it felt very secure anywhere we went with the family. We walked a lot so take good shoes. Great atmosphere and very friendly. Baru is a paradise. Stop be !!

Fairly proficient and had zero problems getting through security and into my flight. Was happy to find that even at 5:00am, there were a few food choices. I'll never be back because Cartagena is a god-forsaken hell hole but good small airport nonetheless.

Nice airport. You can feel the breeze immediately when you exit the airplane. They use stairs. It is a plus for me

Getting threw security is pretty fast for the size of the airport and volume of people that come thru

Good airport, if one prepared and not an imbecile, you pass through all the pinch points with ease and end up in a large international waiting room with options for food and drink.

Only problem is that WiFi only works at the gate. Been here twice. It’s a quick check in process. Clean and small. The taxis mob you as you leave in the busy months. Cartagena is amazing. Good airport. Not much food selection.

This is the most efficient small airport I’ve ever been to in my entire life. The process of getting out of the taxi and at my gate for my domestic flight, took a grand total of three minutes - no joke.

No, I will say that I was flying a 4 AM flight so the airport was not busy by any means - but still, things move very quickly here.

Would definitely recommend

I just had the smoothest experience at Rafael Núñez International Airport! From the moment I stepped off the plane, the friendly vibes of Cartagena welcomed me. The airport staff were like tour guides, helping me navigate with ease. And let's not forget the tropical decor – it's like a mini vacation in itself. Plus, you can't beat the feeling of stepping out of the terminal and into the Colombian sunshine. Highly recommend! 🌴☀✈

Cartagena de Indias.
One of the most romantic city in Latin America.
This city described in many Garcia Marquez books must be in everysingle person bucket list. The beauty of the “wall city” you must explorer during the day and night. The vibration, the people, etc... is unique!
Take sometime off, take you love with you and have the best time off of your life’

It’s a small airport and every process is fast. It has some gift shops and restaurants/cafeterias. The gates are close to each other.

North airport that you have any stories checking this to see with Avianca Airlines. Chicken cook time spoke English in Spanish and they were awesome

A nice airport. The taxi people are a little relentless so you have to be careful about that.

Keep in mind if you're keeping your cell phone in airplane mode to avoid international roaming charges, this airport does NOT have wifi. So you won't be able to look for an uber or indriver to save on costs. edit: It seems they do have free wifi right now 🤔 When I landed about 3 weeks ago there was no wifi available.
