As a COJOWA student, I am proud to say that it is a great school. It definitely is the best in Cartagena and one of the top schools in Colombia. What I like the most about the school, is that it provides the privilege of graduating with two diplomas: the American and the Colombian. Therefore, the school opens more opportunities for students to have in the future, including the access to both national and abroad colleges and universities. Another characteristic I love, is that the school successfully achieves a balance between sport programs and academics.The school offers programs such as Honor Society, Model United Nations, Student Council, Destination Imagination, and a wide variety of sport activities from soccer, volleyball, and basketball al the way to Karate Do and gymnastics. Most importantly, COJOWA gives a high level of importance to values. The social environment is very healthy and friendly. I strongly recommend it!

As a COJOWA Alumni and current COJOWA parent of two, I can´t think of a better school for my children to grow in. Not only COJOWA offers academic rigor and a dynamic and changing curriculum, US and Colombian accredited diplomas, an excellent values program, awesome staff, amazing athletic, music and art programs, beautiful facilities, the exposure to a local and international community, SAT and ICFES preparation, career orientation, national and intl. university fairs, AP courses and state of the art technology resources, but it is also a place for kids and parents to build lasting friendships. I highly recommend it!

Colegio Jorge Washington counts with strong professional teachers, excellent counselors, understanding administrators, and charismatic students. The curriculum the school offers adjusts to the needs of each individual student, while keeping a proper relation between academics and extra curricular activities such as athletics, music and arts, and other clubs. Additionally, the school’s values play a huge role in the school’s environment. Without a doubt, COJOWA is the best choice of education facilities in Cartagena!

I can't be more proud and happy to be part of this school. COJOWA not only allows us as students to be part of decisions and have our own opinion, but it listens to us and helps us grow every day. We have the chance to express ourselves during extracurricular activities while practicing the sport you love. COJOWA is your best choice in Cartagena.

This school is a poor educational institution. Our children went here for several years and we found the whole experience alternately disappointing and frustrating. The curriculum lags behind that of the United States. The lag is only slight in the earlier elementary grades, but with each year it builds. By the time the kids are in high school, the curriculum is several years behind their counterparts in the US. Even then, education isn't the priority. Cheating is absolutely rampant throughout the school - it is simply the norm. One thing that parents should understand is that this is NOT a true International School.

Just as important, the social dynamics of the school are rather toxic. The school primarily serves as a status symbol for wealthy (or wannabe wealthy) Cartagenaros. It is a small, insular community with children who are primarily raised by empleadas rather than their parents. This group is not welcoming or open to outsiders. Unless you and your family are already accepted members of this community, I strongly caution against sending your children here.

The school system is disorganized and some teachers treat student unfairly. Not the best school for a child
