Kava Kava tours is really a top notch tour agency. My wife and I took Lonely Planet's advice and went with Kava Kava, and we were totally satisfied. Our tour guide was Sabastian, a local Rapa Nui native. He spoke English well and also speaks Spanish. His enthusiasm for his guide service and of Easter island is truly infectious. His knowledge of the history of the island is thorough and researched. Throughout the tour, Sebastian references the theories made by all the known Easter Island historians. His vast knowledge is not just about the Moai, the Birdman cult, and the petroglyphs, etc. He also enthusiastically informed us of the modern issues facing Rapa Nui, the humor of the island, and culture of the people. For the sunrise and essential tour, We were picked up at our place of lodging provided us with portable chairs to watch sunrise at the Tongariki site. Hot coffee was also offered. From there, we toured Rano Raraku, and Orongo village. In addition, Sebastian gave us some excellent advice regarding local restaurants and other sites to visit around the island. My wife and I will miss this great island and hospitable people. When we come back, we know we have a wonderful local friend with a warm personality to call upon to help us plan our next adventure!

We had an amazing time! We went on a private day tour and a snorkeling tour. Everyone was great to work with and so knowledgeable about the island and the history. Toki especially was so great to tour the island with! 100% recommended using them if heading to Easter Island.

My husband and I recently returned home to Canada after spending 5 days on Easter Island. We are so glad we chose Kava Kava tours to show us around this wonderful Island. Our tour guide, Sebatian, is a local Rapanui. Our first day was cancelled due to a heavy downpour, but Sebatian made sure we visited every site in the days to follow. I can highly recommend this tour operator. I enjoyed my tour, as my tour guide Toki was very knowledgable and helpful. During the tour, I could learn a lot about Rapa Nui and were able to take great pictures of the sights.

We had the pleasure to tour with "Toke" Tokerau. It was the most incredible experience ever, he was warm, friendly extremly knowledgeable and very proud of his heritage. We super reccomend him. It will be well worth your while.
