This is the quarry in which Pukao (topknots) were carved and transported from. Interesting spot to visit, the area is quite far and the terrain is very hilly. Makes you wonder how hard it must have been to transport the Pukao to different areas of the island.

The place of former red stone quarry, largerly unexcavated. You can see that the massive rocks were carved and transported up and down hills to the Ahu platforms. Gives you an idea of the scale of the operation.

You need the national park pass and a guide to go here. It is a short walk but the trail is uphill and uneven so if you have issues be forwarded. It is interesting but seems like part of the story doesn't add up... Great view though.

Topknot quarry. This is not as extensive or impressive as the moai quarry, but it is close to Hanga Roa, and it contains history of how the Catholic Church defaced the historic relics.

Walked there on my own on a rainy day. One of the best experience I had on Easter Island. Hitchhiked five times by friendly and chatty locals sharing remarkable facts you won't find in travel books.

Great spot to see the rock quarry of the moais here although it’s not as visible as I would have liked. What really shines here is the quarry is at the top of the mountain and you can climb up to see some spectacular views of the island and it’s coast which overlooks the main town of Hanga Roa. Great spot to visit if not just for the view of the island.

Rapa Nui is still pretty pristine. We visited ten National Parks while there, each one featuring an aspect of this culture. Clocked an average of 12k steps daily! I enjoyed every minute!

Must see, the Moai hats factory! We rent a car and drove around the island. It's really easy to get to, however watch out for wild horses along the road.
