This is one of the most iconic spots of Easter Island and the first sight I went to visit. Some of the palm trees that once covered the island have been replanted and the horses contribute to a bucolic atmosphere. I wish the weather had been good for a swim but grateful it had stopped raining!

Gorgeous spot that will end up taking up a lot of memory on your camera! There is no way around it, this is the top photogenic spot on the island. This Ahu supports 7 Moai some of them with Pukao (topknots) and the Akaneka beach as a backdrop. Don't miss it!

If you are going to Easter Island, this is one of the main sites the guides will bring you. The Moai here are really impressive and its one of the few places you can see the different hats. You can also go to the beach here.
Its worth spending some time here and going on the walks around the place, such as to Ovahe beach.

Amazingly well preserved moai. They had been buried in sand so they have not been as ravaged by erosion as some others. Also we watched Rapa Nui dancers perform. A great place to swim and eat local food.

Stunning beach, away from the more commercialised one. The entry is over the rocks, make sure you are comfortable with rough terrain and bring good shoes for the short trek. Once you get there - paradise, sapphire water, white sand... just perfect!

Great set of moais, easy access close to the statues. Go there in the morning for a good light

This place is magical. The restaurant on site makes delicious food and juices, souvenirs are for sale, the beach is beautiful, and the moai watch over it all

Ahu Nau Nau is a very beautiful place and a must stop on the island. It has something for everyone: history, beach (warm, clear, clean water), food, beautiful landscape and serenity.
This location is believed to be where the first king set foot on this island. There are a few Moai's on the site and some ruins can be found surrounding the area. The beach is a nice sandy beach with an incredible color of water.
You can either rent a vehicle and come to this part of the island at your leisure or you can hire a taxi to bring you out here. Truly enjoyed the day here.

Phenomenal place to visit! One of those once in a life time experiences where the books nor the internet will ever do it any justice vs. seeing it up close and personal. The locals on the island are some of the most friendliest people you will ever have the great fortune to meet. Take the time and treat yourself to this awesome experience. Good luck...

The Ahu Nau Nau is located about 150 meters inland from the quiet shore of Anakena Beach. From there it dominates the perspective of this magical place that is considered the birthplace of the history and culture of Easter Island. It was here that, according to oral tradition, the high-ranking chiefs of the powerful Miru clan established their residence, and where the first king of the island, the Ariki Hotu Matu’a, landed with his people and established the first settlement that originated to the Rapa Nui culture.

The best beach on Rapa Nui! Moai over the beautiful sandy beach. This is a great spot to relax after hiking around the island.
