Sunnyside Natural Market

This is an excellent market, and a staple on the Calgary scene for almost as long as I can remember! Whether its the freshest, tastiest produce in town, or the more exotic supplements you need, you'll likely find it here at Sunnyside!

The staff are always excellent and very helpful, if they don't have what you need then they will try and order it in for you! Their prices are also very reasonable, especially for an independent market. There is a reason that they are still around after all these decades!

I always come here to get the supplements I cannot find anywhere else. Plus, as a bonus, when you shop here, you are keeping your money in the local, Calgary economy! You get the best quality products at a great price, and do some good with your dollars, what can be better than that?

This shop, aside from having a wide product range, has superb customer service.

I bought some Albertan chevre which was a hit. When I returned for more, it was out if stock. I enquired when it would be restocked and was given a definitive answer. Sure as shootin', it was available as promised.

On another occasion, I called to check on sourdough bread inventory. No surprise that Sidewalk Citizen sourdough had been sold-out by Saturday afternoon. Luckily, there were 2 remaining 🥖 which I asked to be set aside.

Service and quality is superb.

This is a joy to go shopping to! It is clean well sorted easy to find what you need I found the staff was not only happy and friendly...but the are VERY knowledgeable! They can answer any questions you have. The food is OUTSTANDING fresh healthy non GMO . All organic and natural. Even free tasters to try at the soup area. They like you to bring your own non plastic bags but will provide a brown paper bag if you forget your bag. **HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!**

Great selection of produce and the staff is beyond friendly it's always so nice going in. I have yet to try anything from the bakery but it always smells incredible :)

Very nice selection, the staff are helpful and always help me to find the odd products that I need, and if they don't have it they explain why or when they will get it. I like that they sell local dairy here!

Alas, a bit expensive to shop at a niche store for all my grocery needs, but the service here is excellent and safeway should take some notes from them.

Great place! Love the smell and atmosphere here. Can always find my specialty items. Yes, they are a little pricier here, but I like to support local. And the home made sourdough bread made daily is amazing!

This market is one of the reasons we were inspired to move to the neighborhood. They have all of the essentials and are always stocking up on new items. Patty and her staff are super friendly and accommodating, and if I can’t find it, they always help me find what I need. Not only do they have an incredible selection of fresh produce, they have Sidewalk Citizen bakery inside, whose sourdough bread is not to be missed. :)

OMG! I LOVE this place!! The Lil bakery is unreal. The breakfast sandwich is amazing. The staff are encredible and has such a good vibe. 👍

The baked goods are the best in Calgary. I enjoy the selection of healthy options. My favorites are The Living Libations , and Purica lines on the health supplement side. For the Baked goods my favorites are the Chocolate chip Prairie Mills Bread Loaf. For the baked/fresh in store items, their Danishes and bread pudding are top of my list.

This is one of the best natural food stores I have been to. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. To those of you who don't think masking is a priority do the rest of us a favor and use curbside pickup. I am so tired and frustrated of those few individuals that put themselves above the rest of the public. I am personally very glad that they are strict.

Friendly staff, great selection, high quality produce. Prices on some things like eggs are actually pretty good (compared to similar quality at supermarket), but most things are at a premium (as one would expect). Still seems cheaper than Blush Lane or Planet Organic, though I don't shop at those enough to really compare. The pizza and other take-out food from the bakery side are amazing! Love the croissants!

One of my favorite places in Sunnyside. I love how homey the place feels like it's run by actual people, not corporations. Even though it's a small space they manage to fit so much stock and variety onto their shelves. I'm so thankful I can walk over and pick up something for a last minute recipe. And it always smells divine with the to-go items available from sidewalk citizen. Highly recommended!

I've always loved shopping at Sunnyside Natural Market. It's a welcome break from the chaos of large grocery stores, and it's a treat to buy thoughtfully selected products (there's always excellent chocolate and cheese and I sometimes get lucky and get a stellar deal on fresh guacamole that needs to get off the shelf). Their bulk section is really well-stocked for the size of the store! And bring-your-own-container is appreciated. I also appreciate the extra precautions they've taken to keep staff and customers save in the pandemic.

A very cute market with all you need. Honestly the best baked goods in town. In particular, the bread pudding and croissants are incredible!

I've been eating a Veggie Pizza my entire life, but what was offered here by a slice was beyond my imagination. Perfectly crispy, asparagus and Cauliflower on a pizza was not what I thought I would get. Absolutely amazing. Thankyou

I <3 Sunnyside Market. Love the produce. Their tomatoes are always head and shoulders better than the other organic markets that I occasionally frequent. I found out it is because they get them from smaller suppliers, closer in to Calgary which equals better tasting tomatoes. Teaming up with Sidewalk Citizen bakery just put the icing on the cake for me (literally). If i need a quick dessert for a dinner party, I just buy a few different baked goods items and some fresh berries: done. And the multigrain sour dough?! Favourite bread outside of France. Really, really. And the staff are always warm and friendly. This place has a great feel to it, quality items and a decent selection.

This place rocks! Over the several years I've lived close by, I've found it's stocked in a reliable way, and the staff are always welcoming and helpful. Sunnyside Natural Market tries really hard, and I feel like they've been very responsive to community needs. A true gem.

A hidden gem! A bock from the Sunnyside LRT station this warm and welcoming shop is chock full of beautiful food: organic veggies to fresh baked bread. It’s a bit pricey but the quality of food and service is worth the higher price. A great shopping experience owing to the character of the shop and the outstanding staff.

Once of my fav places to pickup fresh produce & bread (sidewalk citizen). Recently ordered for 'curbside pickup' due to the current circumstances and it was super smooth! Again, the veggies I ordered were super fresh and the staff were very helpful.
