Carlton Food Mart

Almost directly across the street from the Montery Apts where my grandfather was the 'super' for many years starting in the late 50's. Had the pleasure of visiting the area and was in need of a few lunch items so this food mart was the obvious choice. Clean, well stocked with a large variety. The owner was courteous and did not mind double bagging for me as I was walking a fair distance. I will remember this quaint little store.

Great variety of items available as well as fairly reasonably priced. The owners and staff are always very nice and the store is clean. So glad they are so close by.

One of the cleanest convenience stores in the city. Friendly staff and pretty good selection for the size. Kinda biased since I live close by and come here all the time but respect to the owners for not selling illegal cigarettes here like a lot of other stores do.

My favorite downtown corner store, I walk a few extra blocks to come here regularly because they always have whatever I need and the staff is absolutely lovely and super helpful if something isnt on the shelf or I have any questions, love this place!

It is a lovely convenient store owned and run by a family. It is well stocked compared to other small grocery stores nearby, and while some items are expensive (after all you are paying for the convenience), overall the prices are reasonable and surprisingly cheap for certain items when compared to Superstore where I do my weekly shopping. (Don't mention Safeway - Safeway is really expensive nowadays!) The shop reminds me of many stores in Europe and Asia, and it is really sad to see so many small, independent family-owned businesses closing down in Winnipeg and else where because they can no longer compete against large corporate chains. Overall, a nice, friendly store that if you have been coming there for some time, it makes you feel like it is "yours."

Love this place. I live close by and it's a great convenient store with pretty good prices considering. For a smaller store they stock almost everything I'm looking for.
