17th Ave Liquor Boutique

Recently I went in to buy 3 bottles of luxury bourbon. Joe (the owner) helped me find the exact bottles I needed to complete a very rare collection. He took the time to sort through over 20 bottles. This is just the beginning of the service I received.

In the process I was accidentally charged for an additional bottle and did not realize until I got home. I called the store and Joe was so thankful I had called and immediately knew who I was because he also noticed after I had left that I was overcharged. He apologized around 100 times for the mix up.
I went back to the store and we remedied the honest mistake. This experience speaks to this store's honesty, integrity, and class as this could have just been swept under the rug but they took it upon themselves to fix this mistake and did it in a very quick manner.

In addition to the great service I received; the store has one of the best selections for rare whisky, bourbon, and wines I have seen. No where in Calgary had what I was looking for and this store had all I needed and then some.

I HIGHLY recommend this store and to deal with Joe or Rob (at the East Village Location) as I certainly will be back and felt the need to share my great experience.

This is one of my favorite liquor stores!

They always bring in niche products, and are happy to order in specialty products if you ask. They give great wine recommendations here, and treat everyone like family. Often when I come, the whole family is here, dogs and all!

Hidden gem! So much selection. Great prices. And don’t get me started on the staff!! They are phenomenal. They helped me out with picking out the perfect wine for my anniversary. Definitely recommend.

Moved from the suburbs to downtown and my neighbour's referred me to this gem of a liquor store. So many unique wines and spirits I’ve never heard of. Even some rare stuff too. Prices are reasonable for being downtown.

I have very recently written a review for the other Liquor Boutique location, located in East Village. As far as my knowledge goes.. there are only 2 main (if not more) locations of this family owned business. After visiting the 17th ave Location, I would have revoked my last review, and chosen to try to write an even more positively glowing review.. although the atmosphere is quite a change from their East Village location.. It somehow manages to match expectations and customer satisfaction. As far as I understand, one of the 2 Co-Owners, Joe, is quite different from his brother, Rob. But I can assure you.. as straight forward, focused and driven as he may seem.. he shares the same friendlies and the same kind heart as his brother. Same great prices, paired well with the same amazing customer service. 2 polar opposite locations.. with the same friendly, caring nature. I have never met people as obsessed with customer satisfaction and PRIDE as I have after experiencing these 2 location. I have been greeted by who I understand is the mother of the owners. I have never met a woman, so sweet and so willing to do whatever she can to make anybody who walks through the door, feel so at home and so comftorable.. I challenge anybody to find a "family" business that is as family oriented as these establishments. As soon as I walked through the door, and seen the smile on their mothers face.. I felt as if I was coming in through the back door of my house and having my mother waiting for me, just in time to sit down with the family and have dinner. Again.. I challenge you to find any establishment that obsesses so much over the satisfaction of anybody that finds themselves walking through their doors.

This store is the best thing that ever happen to me. Best experience, so friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend this liquor store.

Liquor is kind of expensive, however way cheaper than clubbing on 17th Ave they also didn't have that big of a selection but the person working there was so nice

This liquor store is literally one of the best liquor stores in Calgary. The service and the prices are incredible.

People complaining about the prices need to understand that this is a LOCAL business NOT a franchise. The extra few dollars is how they make their money! Plus when is the last time you got actual help from someone when buying alcohol? I’m from BC and never in a BC LIQUOR store has anyone ever given me any customer service.
Plus it doesn’t hurt that ‘the guys ain’t ugly’ lol ;)

The owner/manager is really cool! He is so friendly and welcoming when you come in and has great suggestions for wines that you may not have considered before!

He knows his stuff and takes a great keen interest in making sure that you leave his shop with exactly what you want and need. Most liquor stores have staff that have zero interest in interacting with the customers.

The selection of wines and alcohol here reflects what you will see on the menus in the restaurants in the area so now you can enjoy the same great tastes of The Living Room or Hana Sushi without the surcharge!

I feel good about supporting this local business in Calgary for sure!

I order through Skip here & there and visit in person. Small, local business with great service and competitive pricing. The owners of this place are absolute beauties. Always super friendly and willing to help. There's also a tasting bar here, which is odd given the size of the joint. The place isn't expensive, but isn't cheap - being all about the cheap drinks, that's the only thing I'd change about it. This is the only place I go to, though, regardless of cost - worth supporting these small shops when the owners are so committed. Would go back. Would recommend.
