Windy Point

Almost after 8 years again meet the lovely mountains, the whole experience was so amazing and thrilling. It took me back to adventurous past… and motivate me again to get start the activity…

Beautiful area! Very rocky. Great little walk over looking the water. You can also go a bit higher up hiking which is slightly tougher as it's going over rocks

The "road" leading up to the area was a little sketchy at best during the winter months, use at your own risk. Not bad if you have 4x4 and good tires. The view was amazing. It's called windy point for good reason, very strong winds. Parking wasn't too bad in this spot.

Windy point was great as usual! You get a beautiful view of Abraham Lake! However it wasn't windy. Our Canadian troupes were doing rappelling training on the cliff as well!

How can you not give nature 5 stars? This half way between Jasper and Banff point is an absolute gem. The turquoise water, the steady wind and the amazing depth of field makes for a quick photo or a lengthy meditation. There's plenty of room if you want to be alone. And when you return, because this place haunts you in your dreams, its timelessness welcomes you back. If you're longing to experience near eternity, this is your place.

The water is so blue and the view is so beautiful I can't wait to go back.

Definitely lives up to its name. The wind picks up as you get closer to the water. There are several nice spots to take breathe taking photos. Nice not-so-little spot to stop and stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery. It's a little tricky to find the entrance to the parking lot of your are heading east along the Highway so best to use navigation not to miss it

This place continues to surprise me. I thought it was just a lovely spot for a picnic but there is also a bird house which doubles as a memorial and today we discovered that the cliff wall has anchor points at the top that have been secured professionally to enable cliff climbing and rappelling to occur. A short walk away across Highway 11 there is a mountain side walk to the peak which also has a memorial bench located about one third of the way up.

one of our favorite places to shoot couples, elopements, families. A great spot to wander and even hike.

This place is called windy point for a reason lol!!! If you can take pictures while controlling the tears because of wind and ensuring you are able to hold your camera without dropping is an achievement. Wind here can literally make you feel like its pushing you!! Must visit place!!!!! My fav place to visit in Nordegg!! 🥰🥰

Just a beautiful place. Can't say enough about this place. Come admire the view, enjoy the drive here and disconnect from the busy world and enjoy the outdoors!

It is true, it was WINDY!! The views... Unreal! Had a nice picnic lunch on a long day of biking. I just love Abraham lake.

Definitely worth the stop. Plan it into your trip and bring lunch. Actually was very nice and calm when we stopped.

Lots of people. Hiking shoes are good, when a gust of wind comes...you at least stand a chance of staying in one spot lol

Beautiful spot. Once the lake is froze, large bubbles form under the ice. Methane gas from decaying plant life form the unique bubbles.
