This place is a must visit if you are traveling through Jasper or Banff. From this bridge you need to drive another 10 minutes to the parking lot, after which you go on a bus and they will take you to the bridge and back. The first steps on this bridge caused fear for me personally, but on the third approach to this bridge I felt very comfortable and was lucky with the weather: it was very warm and sunny. But I think this place is beautiful in any weather. I was also amazed by the selection of souvenirs in the store. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to have lunch in the cafe, but I will definitely come back here again!

If you are going to the icefield, yuo may as well get the package to visit the Skywalk whilst you are there. Personally I would do the Skywalk first if possible.
The Columbia Icefield Skywalk is a popular tourist attraction located in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It is a glass-floored observation platform that extends out from the edge of a cliff, providing visitors with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and the Sunwapta River below. The Skywalk is situated along the Icefields Parkway, approximately halfway between the Jasper and Banff townsites. It offers visitors a unique perspective of the Canadian Rockies and the Athabasca Glacier. The Columbia Icefield Skywalk features a horseshoe-shaped walkway with a glass floor that juts out from the cliff's edge. The platform is constructed of steel and glass, providing an unobstructed view of the landscape below. You can enjoy a self guided walk that includes informational displays about the surrounding geology, wildlife, and glaciology. The experience offers a thrilling opportunity to view the dramatic landscape from a new vantage point. The Skywalk is wheelchair accessible, allowing people of all abilities to enjoy the experience. It is designed with safety features and has a solid construction to ensure visitors' comfort and security while exploring the platform.

Visited on Sep 10, 2023. The regular shuttle bus back from the Columbia Icefield bypasses the visitor centre and goes further north on HWY 93 to arrive here directly. A little scared at the right beginning on the glass but soon ok. Another way to become better is to look at the horizon instead of looking down. Good view and worthy.

It was such a great time. Took my father in law. It was our first time. There was some maintenance being done, so we couldn't walk the whole thing, however we still had access to over half of it and the views are spectacular. There's no rush which is nice.

We arrived with bad weather so the viability at times was not great but we did see and photograph some beautiful scenery and loved how easy it was to walk around with no restrictions. The skywalk gave you stunning views of the mountains, rivers and Glaciers. The structure was amazing so make sure you also check it out. Bus does run frequently to and from the Columbia Icefield centre and access is very easy.

This was one of the most amazing experience. A bit overpriced but definitely worth it. There was frequent buses to get to the skywalk. It is long and wide enough for a large crowd. Lots of information boards around to get more information about the animals and site.
It was a bit jarring to step on the glass but once you step into it than it gets better

Walking across the bridge is a truly great experience, and you need not worry because the glass is incredibly strong and safe. The view of the mountains and waterfalls from the bridge is awe-inspiring. Keep an eye out, as you might even spot mountain goats beneath the bridge. If you enjoy heights, this is an absolute must-visit destination. Be sure to purchase a ticket in advance, as you cannot stop on the side of the highway to access it. Also, it's essential to be prepared since there are no washroom facilities available at this location.

Feel of adventure with touch of care!
Great activity to do if you're feared of heights, it feels so safe and solid which helps you overcome the fear of height.
Great place of visit with young kids.

Car parking is located 6km east of the actual structure with free super comfy bus shuttle is available every 15 minutes.

Highly recommended place!

The views were stunning. I had a tickling sensation in my stomach from the walk on the glass-floor observation platform overlooking a 280m drop 😅🤩.

Peace of advice: go to the washrooms before heading into the bus for the skywalk. There are no toilets when you arrive. The washroom in our bus was always closed. We had to use the bushes 🙃

Neat experience and structure. Kind of a one time thing, but still glad I went. No parking lot and tickets required, so you must use the shuttle from the icefield center. Bus trip is quick and efficient

The skywalk is a wonderful experience. The price-performance ratio is still ok. If you travel here by bus, you should take plenty of time. There is so much to see, experience and learn. All around the mountains and the glaciers, and also the animals like the mountain goats and the bears. You also learn how important nature and climate protection are for the preservation of the glaciers and their lakes.

I had a wonderful experience at the Icefield Skywalk. The structure is made up of strong glass where you can jump sleep run whatever you want . You can overcome your fear of heights and spend some quality time with family and loved ones. The canyon and Glacier valley right under your feet. It's extremely safe and has some gorgeous views of the Canadian Rockies. You can buy the tickets online or at the visitor centre. The Columbia icefield Skywalk bus shall be taking you to the location and dropping you back to the visitor centre.

An unmissable place when you visit Banff/Jasper.. you will be amazed with the natural beauty, serenity and sheer size of glacier. Take a jacket without fail, as the glacier is less than 10degrees even during peak summer. Also advance booking of ride to glacier is a must!

1 hour round-trip excursion, worth buying the ticket and exploring the Skywalk high above waterfalls, roaring rivers, and miles of mountains & glaciers!

The views are great and walking on that glass pathway is a thrill in itself. Interesting to see the engineering behind it. Took a little while to grab the bus back to the welcome center but it's alright. Not necessarily a must see, but definitely worth it if you have the time.

This was an amazing experience that lets you see the beauty and wonder of the Canadian Rockies from a new perspective. The skywalk is a glass-floored platform that extends over the edge of a cliff, giving you a thrilling view of the Sunwapta Valley and the glaciers that carved it. The skywalk is part of the Columbia Icefield Adventure, which also includes a ride on an all-terrain vehicle to the Athabasca Glacier, where you can walk on the ice and learn about its history and ecology. The skywalk is located on the Icefields Parkway, a scenic drive that connects Banff and Jasper National Parks. The skywalk is open from May to October, and you can book your tickets online or at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre. The skywalk is fully accessible and has interpretive displays and audio guides that explain the natural features and stories of the area. The skywalk is a must-see attraction for anyone who loves nature and adventure. It is a unique way to experience the awe-inspiring landscape of the Canadian Rockies and to appreciate the power and beauty of glaciers. I highly recommend the Columbia Icefield Skywalk to anyone who visits Banff or Jasper. It is an unforgettable experience that will leave you breathless

Awesome experience. Both the Skywalk and the ice fields. Prepare for some bad dad jokes from your bus driver. 😀

My family and I did both the Glacier Adventure and the Skywalk and it was a well-organized experience with very knowledgeable and friendly staff. The views are truly breath-taking and I enjoyed all of it. Definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This may seem like a touristy thing to do but for our group, it was a once in a lifetime bucket list experience to walk on a glacier! It was such a unique experience to ride the big snowcats up the hill and walk on the frozen glacier ice. Bring a water bottle so you can fill it up and drink true glacier water. The wind is cold and it’s a bit slippery but that’s exactly why you expect a glacier walk to feel like. A highlight of our trip. And no, you can’t get close to this experience by driving to the parking lot and stepping on the edge. We’re so glad we did the tour instead.

What a place this is. It's surreal, it's beautiful, and it's fantastic. The views, the roads, the mountains, everything was perfect. We were fortunate that the weather was also lovely, and we enjoyed every bit of it. Walking on the skywalk was a fantastic experience. It felt scary in the beginning, but overall, it was fun. We were able to click some great pictures.
